There have been so many poor performances this season that it's a real worry.

    Thought he was awful.

What the last 4 posts have just said tbh. Not the player he was, seems like a lost soul on the pitch at times lacking any conviction/ confidence.

Hopefully Maeda has him sitting on the bench for a while.

    Eh? Different positions.

    Hatate though, I would agree.

He's fine creating things when he has a ton of space to play with but seems to hit a creative brick wall against deeper defensive lines. Also very hesitant to try and link up play.

A good playmaker who can use both feet in January and we'll be flying.

Such a weird player. He's capable of absolute magic from time to time and gets some goals, but he just doesn't do it consistently enough to justify being a first choice for us.

McGregor, Rogic and another needed in there. Turnbull can play second fiddle to Rogic.

Might be wrong but ange has improved so many of our lot, why has turnbull gone backwards ? Is it a case where he feels he has to put him in the team but not really defining what he does ? Odd because we all know how good he can be.

I think he has improved his fitness and work-rate a tenfold. It's just that, Turnbull, like Soro, probably looked a lot better than he actually was last year because of how stale and * everyone else was. He can be a good player, I think his best performance for us was against Ferencvaros just a few weeks ago. But he has some pretty big limitations that need ironing out.

He literally does not own a left foot, you see him struggle at times on the pitch because he just will not use it in situations where he needs to. He's incredibly slow so can't really dribble past players, he's very immobile and rigid on the ball as well. Also, he seemingly can't play on the half-turn (or chooses not to), so when he receives a pass he often takes a touch back to where the ball is played from and then takes an age to turn with it and shift the ball quickly. Rogic is slow as * too but uses his technique and power to get away from players who are tight to him - you rarely see that from Turnbull. McGregor does it, Christie did it, heck even Ntcham could do it.

All these things are super frustrating to watch, especially in games like today. I think the makings are there of a very good midfielder but he will need to show more IMO to stay in the team.

Think he just drops out of the match and doesn't know how to get back in it. Misses the imagination and directness of Rogic when he's not there to offset that.

His poor performances are definitely outweighing his decent ones this year it’s fair to say it’s a Concern.

Major disappointment for me this season so far. I don’t care about your goal tally David, focus on your overall performance and the goals will come.

Ange has improved Ralston. Outside of him he hasn't improved anyone else. New signings, Hart , ccv, juranovic, jota abada and kyogo have improved our starting 11 but outwith that no player that was here already isn't showing anything new and/or improved from what had been seen previously. Where does this opinion that he has improved "so many" come from?

I totally get that feeling from him too, that he measures his performances on goals. You can see it when he scores, extremely happy and upbeat. When he doesn’t, he look disappointed even when the team wins.

He lacks in creativity in so many ways. Struggles to turn on the ball or even play a one two to get him into a good shooting position.

That said, thought the whole team had issues today. Normally after the international break we come out firing, today was slow and ponderous.

He was playing out of position yesterday, playing in Tams No 10 role, so cut him some slack.
    There is a player there.
We do need to bring in competition for him urgently.

Would you not say the entire squad, as an whole, have improved in the short time ange has been here, compared to the deflated, unorganised squad that Lennon left him ?

    Ralston McGregor Rogic.

    Christie before he left.

The idea that Ralston is the only player who’s had an upturn since he came in is pish.
