That is something we should absolutely be doing. Giving them control of a brand we’re associated with worldwide to do what they want with would be extremely irresponsible

I don't really think you can have a go at them for that in a commercial and business sense it makes total sense and they still don't use or promote the term

…as long as that is the genuine reason.

…. the cynic in me thinks it’s not their only motive.

What does it matter if we own the Old Firm brand if everyone still uses it apart from us anyway?

Useless questions asked from shareholders, once again focusing on everything but what we want to know.
"Here can we get a 75000 seater stadium please"

Give me a * break. Embarassing.

No point putting in an innovative manager without changing the board, time for change.

Jesus Christ, first post regarding content of the AGM and I'm already * off

    Wasn't Ange Dom's man?
And if it's Peter lawwels man now, then I'm still worried, even more so....and that's with the big man doing a good job :56:

With every passing year I pay less and less attention to these events. Step one, fans voice their concerns and or ideas about the club. step two, board and everyone who is any way connected with them ignores what the fans are saying and just goes ahead as planned regardless.

For as long as season tickets sell nothing will change.

Granted, but much like Celtic they're a huge club in a relatively poor league, which like celtic hinders their progress.

Ajax like ourselves are using previous fame and endeavours to sell there clubs today. We're known more for our fans than our football prowess, Ajaxs youth system is world renowned and rightly so the players and numbers of players that have come through that system is astonishing. The last golden period they had was when Overmars, Klivert and Davids etc come through, that was scary to think that the large percentage of thar team was also the Dutch national team too, they then went on a lul as many of the huge clubs in Europe scouted the * out of Holland tapping up all the talent, Ajax done what our board is incapable of doing and changed tact, by recruiting predominantly from Danish football, this has brought them a new wave of success, both on the field and financially. Football is all about adapting, Ajax are very successful in what they do because of their flexibility and ability to change, our board has the same attitude that it's had since 67.

Bankier said he 'cant give assurances' on whether Bernard Higgins will be employed by Celtic or not. Is this because Dermot Desmond has not indicated whether he will put a stop to the appointment, this may have a lot to do with it. Desmond has shown he will dig his heels in and not give into the fans when they wanted Neil Lennon out last season. Bankier was the pantomime villain at the AGM today (perhaps rightly so) but in some circumstances he is the puppet and Desmond is pulling the strings.

I dont care who was responsible for the appointment of Ange, all that matters is he is proving to be the correct man for the job.

I don't think the Ajax comparisons are exactly far fetched. A big club in the past that have struggled to keep up with the massive shift in football due to finances, like ourselves and many others. Not sure if they invest more in scouting and youth development or just use the money they do invest more wisely. Or maybe they look beyond their own club when recrituiting coaches etc. But it's teams like them that we should be looking at and trying to implement the same systems that are in place.

Saying that, I'm obviously unaware of how they are financially in comparison to ourselves.
