    The most glaring thing for me we are missing is a durty bastart that instilled fear in other teams we were playing ,

    Peter Grant - would do anything for the club. Became a very useful holding midfielder under Burns which took the pressure off McStay having had to carry the midfield (along with Collins) under Brady & Macari

    Thats a great shout. We got 3 and and half brilliant years with him producing his magic in the hoops and it was bittersweet in the sense that how we would have all loved to have had him in the hoops a few years earlier so he could have played for us longer but what a beautiful 3 and half season they were that he gave us.

    Danny McGrain another great shout. On the one occasion I got to meet him and spend time with him he was class personified. Gave me so much time and not just respect but genuine interest in talking about where I was at at the time. Some great childhood memories of watching him in the hoops in the early 80's when I was a kid.

    I really miss a little bit of steal, not necessarily a hatchet man, just someone that brings a little bit of fear to the opposition, someone who will wind up their hot heads, who will influence the ref....basically someone who will run full length of the pitch when there is a wee chance of a square go......

    Brown, Lennon, Grant

    (in my opinion Ralston is about the only current starter who has this in the locker)

    Can always remember Oliver Khan the Bayern Munich goalkeeper banging the ground in delight at full time cause Bayern had held on for an 0-0 draw at Celtic Park. Was the Champions League group stage in 2004 I think. It just showed where we were at the time in terms of European football. Any team that came to Celtic Park and got away with any points whatsoever were delighted. Bayern obviously one of the biggest clubs in the world and they were delighted with a point. We should have beat them in the away game too. Alan Thompson put us 1-0 up and we somehow managed to lose 1-2.
