You'd be hard pressed to find Alves or Barcelona players rubbishing an opponent...While what he said was true and he's entitled to that opinion, especially by the scoreline, my guess is that the players were sufficiently fed up with a lot of the comments by City players...From 'Not the best they've faced', 'Ref decided it' etc.

Since his signing in 2008, Alves has been a fundamental part of the club's success in this recent era...A Barcelona legend, for me

Another one, were Real a small club when they applauded both Ronaldinho, and more recently Messi after they had both scored at the Bernabeu. Ronaldinho is another player we have appreciated and applauded over the years. I don't see why people get so annoyed about it if I'm honest. There is nothing wrong with appreciating some of the greatest players to have ever played the game.

I think Riquelme was another one.

Some people are just self loathing in regards to us. Club and fans can do no right, just like to complain about everything. As has been mentioned, our fans have never set out to intimidate the way fans do in Greece or Turkey. Players love playing us because it's a party atmosphere (well now and again), football fans appreciating good footballers. Nothing wrong with that.

    Love the bold Dani.

At 38 year old, you can see what Xavi is thinking with it.

2 absolute legends of the game.

I can’t, he’s never been a pure leader, his stamina, skill and pace was his biggest things. He was top of they three but never seemed a leader, must be though because it’s the first thing he’s 100% made sure to happen

He is or was the most decorated player of all time if that can’t inspire you then fuckall will :giggle1:

I’ve always seen him as a leader tbh, he’s a character and a half.

Absolutely. Who knows what he can still do at 38 but there's no question he is a leader on/off the pitch. Plus, let's face it he'll be an upgrade over both Roberto & Dest at RB

I like it more than anything else to push a player like Dest to up his game and become more consistent than flashes of brilliance. Dani is a hard worker, trains like a beast and brings great energy to a squad - plus, he's a perennial winner

One of my favorite players of all time and, for me, the most intimidating defender I have ever seen - his years in particular at Sevilla, an absolute monster at both ends of the pitch
