Oh dear we should maybe see if Aberdeen will sell us Broony.
There is a reason its the MLS and not the Championship even he plays in now.

Worst logic going. There’s countless players from the MLS I’d take in a heartbeat.

I can remember loads in the Premiership saying there was a reason Van Dijk was in the SPL, and then needing to pay £75m for him :56:

Same thing was said about Joe hart. If big Vic gets the will to preform again, well have an excellent player. Sometimes played lose something when they are going through the motions picking up a wage. He knows the demands of us and I think he will be a good addition to our side.

The reason he’d love another shot here is because he’s done at any sort of top level.

Love the guy but no thanks.

I'd give him a go for a moderate fee.

Not a league I fallow and I may be wrong but i think I herd Johnny Russel was tearing it up over there. That kind of speaks for the level of the league.

Johnny Russel tore up our league to the same extent when he wasn’t in his peak - 102 games for Dundee Utd 31 goals, 106 games for Kansas City and 32 goals.

Derby was 144 and 25 btw.

Sometimes, it’s the little things in life that make you happy.

    Just ask Victor Wanyama.

The ex-Celtic hero went viral in 2012 when he innocently tweeted about spaghetti.

Wanyama’s iconic post read: “I had spaghetti and it was very nice I enjoyed it.”

Nine years on and 40,000 retweets later, it’s hard to believe the Kenyan isn’t the face of Dolmio.

Nevertheless, Football Scotland can exclusively reveal that Big Vic still loves his pasta!

Revisiting his comical Glasgow food review, Wanyama explained: “One day I went to training at Lennoxtown [Celtic’s training HQ] then I came back home. I chilled for a bit

“It was around 6:30pm. I went somewhere in the city to eat. I was alone. I never go to a restaurant alone, but I was always by myself.

“So I went to this restaurant, I had pasta and yeah... I loved it!

“I loved it. It was really nice. I had to tweet about it. That's how it started.

My next burning question was an easy one. Does he still eat spaghetti?

“I do! I do”, Wanyama laughed. “It's good to see people now taking it to the next level, swapping spaghetti with jersey now, so it's great.”

Earlier this year, the CF Montreal star hilariously traded his shirt with an MLS fan in exchange for a packet of his favourite food.

Tottenham even referenced Wanyama's simple but brilliant tweet when announcing his arrival in 2016 as they paraded the player in his new Spurs kit, proudly clutching his spaghetti.

Wanyama – who expressed his desire to return to Celtic one day – came agonisingly close to Premier League and Champions League glory during his time at White Hart Lane.

To this day, it still rankles that he never lifted a trophy with the North London club, who recently made Antonio Conte their FIFTH manager in two years.

He said: “I loved my time there. We had a great team. The only thing is, I don't understand how we didn't win any trophies.

“We had a great team. Whenever I think about it, it p***es me off, and I don't have the answers for why we didn't win any trophies. I don't understand.

I think the club is screaming for trophies but I don't think that's the reason there are a lot of changes, I don't think so.

“I think it was going a bit out of order, the results and everything, that's why they changed the manager. But other than that, I think we were close.

“It was just a little bit of investment and it could have been done. Now I think the club is in the right direction and hopefully in the future we can win something.”

Wanyama has shared dressing rooms with global superstars throughout his career, including the likes of Sadio Mane, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen.

But when asked who topped the lot, the powerhouse midfielder revealed: “Scott Brown at Celtic was amazing

“It was just a little bit of investment and it could have been done. Now I think the club is in the right direction and hopefully in the future we can win something.”

It's difficult to say only Scott Brown because our team, that team was really, really good. Individually, I would say Scott Brown. But collectively, that team was like some proper team.

“At Spurs, I would say Moussa Dembele. I think me and him were bossing it in the midfield. Morgan Schneiderlin as well. It was great

From what I remember Wanyama is telling all sorts of porkies there if he's claiming he didn't want that move.

He (and his brother, who managed him I think) were one of the first to pave the path of SPL to EPL. That was the plan day 1 at Celtic and they didn't particularly hide it.

Don't hold it against him at all, just a bit rich him reinventing history.

It's based on what I remember at the time being fairly public knowledge.

Wikipedia appears to support what I said, other than his agent being his brother:

Sure there was quite a bit more in the press at the time. And not just the usual rumour mongerers.

I don't have a problem with Wanyama using us to get to the EPL. Why wouldn't he? Just saying he is perhaps embellishing things a bit in that interview.

In fairness I could imagine he did want to stay, but not enough to turn down a big wage increase to play in the premier league, especially if we made it clear we wouldn't match what Southampton were offering. It was a good move for all parties at the time

Looking for a last hurrah, great player but would be another McCarthyesque signing. Injury prone therefore inconsistent

He's a solid player now but I don't think he is what we need. We need someone with speed in that midfield and these days I don't think he brings it. If McCarthy wasn't already here I may be up for it.
Also the MLS may be an okay league but he obviously wants out of that league and has seen Mccarthy get a 4 year deal and probably thinks he can sell himself to us.
