Actually Rendog, part of the definition says 'athletic activity' which snooker frankly isn't. It's the same kind of quasi-sport like chess or formula 1. No athleticism involved, though skill definitely. I think maybe the 'athletic activity' part should be taken out of the equation since there's a ot of 'sports ' like that. But hey, if you like it you like it!

btw - Is steve Davis near to retiring now or what? He looked ancient in a recent photo. Is he still any good or just a has-been?

I wasn't totally sure myself but it does say skill or physical prowess so i would have to class it as a sport.

Davis the dinosaur is still trying his best and plays some good pool as well as win a few matches in the snooker.

aye davis is pretty good at the pool but he looks like he doesn't know what he's doing on a snooker table sometimes! he's a pale shadow of his former self

His former self was the most boring former self on the planet when he was young, but what a 147 break machine he was.

A ghost of what he used to be...Hmm. Not being a fan of snooker I lost all contact with t when I stopped living with my brother. No big name any more then for old 'Interesting' Davis I take it?

And yeah, I'll accept it as a sport then.

thats true davis at his peak wouldn't be in the same league as o sullivan but some of the shots he plays are bizarre. i saw him snooker himself a couple of times the other day, davis in his prime could still clear a table

Where would guys rank Davis all time?

I would have him in at 4

    1. Stephen Hendry
    2. Ronnie Osullivan
    3. John Higgins
    4. Steve Davis

I wouldnt rank him up there but I never saw him in his prime Ive only ever seen the Davis who gets put out early round of championships.

    1. Ronnie
    2. Hendry
    3. Higgins

Would be my top 3 ever from watching it.

Ronnie is 4-3 down to Trump right now

Davis was unbeatable at his best much more dominant than say Ronnie is at the moment, you never expected him to lose.
