That's a great line.

Anyone who's played football at any level knows that during a match you always need to pick up a man. As a full back, its even easier knowing that youre up against a traditional winger, rather than a wide player that drifts inside to a central role. You never know whether you should follow your runner and break shape, or stay put to block the full back (knowing that your own winger might not track back).

Its good to hear that our tactic is causing mayhem for teams defending.

 

I thought he looked a bit tired tonight and not entirely natural in the second half when we were under pressure. I wouldn't have minded bringing a left footer on for more balance.

 

He's a good footballer but some of his defending has been a bit suspect so far, tbh

 

Aye, and he tends to give up too easily tracking back but you can tell he has a bit of quality about him.

 

Some great touches and movement in the first 30 mins but he fell right out of the match tonight.

 

I'd probably be a bit more judgemental on some of his performances if he was playing in his actual position, but he's pretty much been shoved to LB since Ange doesn't really trust any of our current LBs.

I've no doubt he'd be class on the other side but I also think he'll start to slowly grow into the position. I would have preferred us settling either Scales or Bolingoli in that role and having Juranovic properly rotate with Ralston.

I think Ange would play Boli in that position now but won't play him there because he needs to put Juranovic in due to the fact they have paid for him and board don't want to see a new asset on the bench, he needs to play. Ralston effectively undroppable right now so they have to shove Juranovic in somewhere

Caught out a couple of time's but he isn't a left back at all..

 

Not sure about that, the biggest thing for me so far as he gives up entirely too easily while tracking back. Don’t think being on the left has anything to do with that.

 

Boli is a better left back..

It's a slight problem as he's no the most comfortable there and Tony keeps cementing his natural position..

Boli is out the picture again but he's our best left back. We should be bringing him in til January..

Juranovic is class and will show it, but he should be fighting it out with Tony or being rotated between both fullback position's..

 

Aye Juranovic isn't effective on the left defending especially Hart saved us at 1-0 as Juranovic position was all wrong and awkward..

Ralston has given Ange a really tough decision to make, mad really he's keeping Croatia's RB out of his position...but deservedly shouldn't be dropped..

Want see more of Scales and Bolingoli is a weird one too as he's looked excellent but then phased out again..

Maybe Ange has a LB in mind for January and doesn't want to see the other options thrive, who knows.

 

Aye he understandably isn't comfortable there. Tony wouldn't be either..

I argued that Juranovic should be right back now but I've gone against my own thought's. Tony should stay in until Juranovic deserves to oust him..

Aye Boli was good but clearly only played as we had no one else that Ange trusted for those game's. Shame really. Kinda cutting our nose off there a bit but can't argue with Ange on this..

I think it's almost a certainty we'll be going for a left back in January mate. Especially with how we play..

 

We must be targeting a left back in January. The most unsettled position we have.

 

Not really bothered about what he done in the past, how much he cost, Croat int. etc etc. It’s all about the here and now. I know he is only in the door, but right now, Ralston doing fine at RB and he has not set heather on fire, does not look comfortable at LB. No way should AR be dropped to accommodate him. So right now, I would have him on the bench.
