Graeme Mathie... Our new DoF?

Will ask again though, what was the point in us hiring a recuritment agency at the start of this year?

Did they really find us Dom McKay, Ange Postecoglou, Anton McElhone and now Graeme Mathie ?
If so, can we get a refund, because I don't think they done any work at all.

 

Why are our appointments always underwhelming, i gather this might be a rumour but it wouldn’t * surprise me

 

Glass ahve empty here, he is going to be a job position filled to ease some fans minds that we are doing things "different" when really we arent.
I'd be amazed if he gets the job and then goes about setting up the world class coaching, sports science, recruitment teams we all know we need, or integrating the youth teams with the first team in a better way.

He is likely to be a cheap option for a year or two to tick a few boxes to keep just enough fans off the boards back for awhile longer.


I firmly believe, we won't actually move forward as a club til we get rid of the board and all the staff they hire as favours/pals etc

 

Wait and see if he's actually appointed and in what capacity.

 

Will he at least take some of the workload off Ange so he can focus on the team/training?

Will he have a deep understanding of what Ange wants in terms of team personnel?

Will he be able to paint the right sort of picture to potential targets re the club and their place in it?

Do those well and it doesn't matter who he is or where he comes from.

(Although I am aware that's probably a sadly naive take on the issue...)

With a DoF role it doesn't really matter where they come from. They will have the scouting department under them, there it is far more important to have links and experience outwith the UK than the DoF role itself. The most important thing for a DoF is experience of setting up and overseeing things like scouting teams, data analyst teams, sports science and medical teams etc. as well as being the liaison between manager and board. I have no idea if this guy has any of that experience though.

 

That alongside his history with us in the past Is getting a bit... incestuous.

Don’t think it’s fair to suggest he ‘wasn’t good enough’ for them. They were taken over not long ago, and there’s been a lot of change in several senior positions throughout the club.
