No! If the system is used PROPERLY we buy players for about £4-5M for a couple of years, selling for about £15-20M. After a couple of years years we progress to signing players at about £7-8M each, paid for by the previous sales. These players sell for more again. This proceeds upwards, alternating between increasing transfer fees and increased wage caps for the new recruits until we get to a point where the entire team is fluid, but consists of players who are ALL top CL capable and not so easily unsettled, and where the loss of quality players is no longer as fatal to our entire structure in the same way.

The critical component of that entire plan though is the single word - "properly"! Our club seems to think it can rinse and reuse the first part - buy at about £3-4M and sell for £10-20M and use that to fund the entire club.

In an ideal scenario (for me!) the club finances should be divided. The operations structure should earn as much as they can from everyday operations - season tickets, merchandise, sponsorship, gate money's etc, and should dispense a relatively small amount yearly as a 'stipend' to the footballing side, say maybe £5-6M. No money from transfers etc should ever be used in club operations. Likewise, if they sign a huge transfer deal etc, that would be 'their' money.

The football side would operate using the stipend and any transfer fees generated, thus if the club does well and the players move for big money, they should benefit from it towards further strengthening. They would be constrained by a salary limit, with the head of football operations (director of football?) managing a pot for wages, where they can have some balance between the number of players available and how much they pay them. If they'd rather have 1 player earning 2 players worth of wages, so be it, but the squad size would suffer for it. The aim should be for constant turnaround of players, so we maximize their usefulness to the pot for the squad

'Losing' our best players isn't necessarily a bad thing if they are sacrificed for a greater strategy. That includes Kyogo, or any other players, no matter how good

Probably our only prize asset in this team right about now that will have PL vultures around him in the next season or two.

The value of our players will be tied directly to results going forward. Ralston, whom many wanted chased from Glasgow a few months ago, could easily go for £10M+ if he continues to progress and hold his spot, coupled with our continuing to keep clean sheets. If we turn this season around and come February we're in front/right on the Huns heels there will definitely be folk looking at our players. Unlike the Huns, we don't NEED to sell, so we'll not get the lowball offers they are only able of garnishing.

Kyogo may be our most valuable asset at current, but if any of the others flourish they'll be worth good returns too. Players who score sell for big profits, defensive players who keep clean sheets likewise. Too early in the rebuild to know what we have yet...

Ralston has quickly become the most overrated player in our support :giggle1:

Jesus christ. I hope you're taking the *.

He'll be on the bench in a couple of weeks when Juranovic is back. Well, he should be.

    £10million for Ralston.
That's up there with the huns claiming Kamara was worth £15million before the ink even dried on his £50k deal to sign for them.

If Ralston left... at very best (with a blinder of a season) to a lower PL relegation fodder or championship club but likely championship bound to obscurity. Considering our very best in Ajer and Edouard went to no mark clubs in I would favour the championship for him.

First touch was brilliant for the goal, set himself up perfectly to bury the chance. Love him.
