This has been the case for years now. Southampton and Norwich took Forster, Wanyama, Van Dijk and Hooper. It's not going to change, whether we like it or not

Wages come into it as well.

For a lot of footballers, pocketing 50k a week at Southampton (and not winning a trophy) is a much better carear choice than 15k at Celtic. That's just how a lot of players think, and most people outside of sport too in their own carears.

There are, of course, players who care less about money and more about winning medals and becoming a legend (Larsson for example), but they are a few and far between.

Also, its a smart carear move. If you move to an EPL club and fall out of favour, have a poor season, you can drop down into the English Championship. If you stick at Celtic and fall out of favour, you're up * creek. This is the type of advice agents are giving to young foreign players, and even the likes of Christie.

Larsson was on one of the highest wages in the UK at the time. I doubt he would have stayed these days on 15k. Thats just football now.

Aye no doubt his commitment to us can never be questioned, especially turning down the likes of Man Utd but he was very very well paid. £45k a week some reports said.

We backed his loyalty with his wage mate. We can’t do it as much on the world stage as we done back then, but I don’t think we really do it at all now.

Barely got a sniff but was still decent..

Run his * off and forced them to give us it back so many time's either in play or straight out. Won it back for the first..

Supportive role, but even then, he put in effort.

    Aye that was class mate..

Again on the halfway line. Nothing really to feed off but came from everywhere else because of the work he does off the ball..

For such a wee guy he holds the ball up brilliantly. Not in the traditional sense, back to chest holding onto a defender but he * does it

The press from the front is as important as a goal at times. Ajeti playing today and M’well defence could’ve just passed it into midfield. Instead they had to punt it most of the time which resulted in them not even getting a shot on target.

He'll probably be annoyed with himself that he didn't get to test the keeper. Didn't get much service today but showed a different side to his game by dropping deep or going wide to get involved. Massive team player.

Was a bit * when Turnbull went for a shot instead of playing him through when we were breaking in the 1st half though :31:

He'll be even more pumped to score on Tuesday now. The effort he puts into every game is unreal.

Aye that chance we had aroun 8minutes in and Turnbull with time abd space plays a * awful shot at goal when he could of passed to Kyogo to keep the move alive.

    But he's too lightweight.

I want us to ransack the J-League in January. Literally anyone who has been to a sushi bar, get them in.
