HE’S desperate to get hard work into his recovering stars.

And reckons in a few weeks time Celtic will be far stronger.

But Ange Postecoglou admits he’ll spend this international break DREADING bad news just like the last time.

The Hoops boss watched his team grind out a 2-1 win over Aberdeen to sign off this section of the Premiership on a high.

Having lost star man Kyogo Furuhashi, who grabbed his eighth goal in ten games here, and skipper Callum McGregor to injuries playing for their countries at the start of September, Postecoglou will be hoping to avoid disaster this time.

And the next two weeks can be used to get new players back instead of counting casualties.

He said: “The last international break wasn’t great for me so I’m not sure how I feel about international breaks!

“Whether it’s red or amber countries, as long as they don’t get injured I will be happy.

I said to the players that if anyone gets injured they are not welcome back anyway!

Look, it is good having that positive feeling and the next two weeks give us the chance to get some players up and running who are out injured, and get some work into some others who need it.

“Fingers crossed they all get through the international window and we have a stronger squad to then sustain a bit of a run after everyone gets back.

“I have quite a few in Josip Juranovic, James Forrest, Mikey Johnston and Chris Julien.

“Giorgos Giokoumakis needs a bit of work, he hasn’t really had a pre-season

So we have got some players we can get something out of when we come back from the break.

“It has been awfully difficult for the players because we have just been really thin.

“I am quite hopeful Josip will be back. It will be three weeks since the injury and he will be close.

“We hope Mikey Johnston isn’t too far away, I think it’s a couple of weeks training and he should be ready. He has been close a couple of times.

James Forrest, I’m not sure about straight after the break. But hopefully not long after.

“Chris Julien will start training with the group after the international break and that’s going to be his first step back, so once he is training with the group it is just a matter of getting his fitness up.

“Just to get 10 days into Giokoumakis as well will be priceless.

Little bit disappointing that, especially two of our next 3 domestic games being away to Motherwell and hibs.

I guess all this period does is hopefully give games to alot of 2nd string players, when we do get jullien, juranovic, giakoumakis etc in, we then have a strong starting 11 and then a group of players that are hardened from game time and style that can come off the bench, not to mention if we get a run and Ange is still in charge in January (I'm hoping) that then we will get some more starting 11 players in during the transfer period.

That jan transfer period was always going to be the most critical part of Ange pushing for the league, it was always going to be tough in the summer.

If not many are away, it actually allows Ange to work with many players. Both on fitness, and tactics.

Really hope we get a bit of luck during this break and none of the players come back injured. A lot of important games in the run up to Christmas and it's vital we drop as few points as possible.

When was the last time we got a run of games 5-10 with our best 11. Did it even happen last season. Seems like a long time since we had a injury free run of games bar the odd player.

We certainly don't have much luck re injuries to our players. Getting a player injured in an actual warm up is the perfect example of that. I honestly don't know what our strongest line up is now whereas a few years back we could practically name our starting eleven every week

Haven't seen any reports pop up about new injuries so far, so it's looking good.

Is this us finally free of any obvious injuries, with two weeks between games as well, allowing hopefully final recovery to guys like Forrest, mikey and giakoumakis?

Only one would be Julien still a couple weeks from match fit?

    Fingers crossed.
Forrest has been a massive miss for us and it will be good to see giakoumikas get some game time. Maybe much needed height up front

I’m craving Jullien’s return. Hopefully the big man can put some organisation into defence with big Hart.
