I was including time he spent injured,that and his form was the point

So he has been a bit part player for almost half his career

 

You could see his qualities more and more tonight..

Pressing high up

Getting better with match fitness. Who knew.......

 

Only saw part of the 2nd half, looked decent from what I saw.

 

It was a championship club. * me, calm down.

 

Was playing a cracking game of hide and seek in that first half. Can’t remember him showing for the ball once from the defence.

Cowardly performance.

4 year contract was utter madness.

 

Too often when the ball is played into his feet he plays a blind first time pass with his left foot without turning. Usually he isn't under pressure but it puts somebody else under pressure when he does it.

Just an odd thing he seems set on doing that I find really frustrating. Maybe he thinks he's keeping play moving fast but I would much rather he started turning and looking for a forward pass.

As said a 4 year contract was insanity, not impressed with him tbh.

 

A typical DD signing. Any player that has played in the EPL with a link to Ireland. Roy Keane, Robbie Keane, Shane Duffy and now McCarthy. Pulled out the bag last minute to try and appease the fans after a poor transfer window.

 

Looks alright to me, does have a wee bit of class about him although is off the pace but possibly cause he hasnt played a lot and even since joining has had injuries.

Early days, is he injured as well? took a couple of bad ones, first one seemed knee on knee? surprised he came through them as he's known to be fragile.

 

Overhead kick through-balls to no one. Absolute comedy performance today. Honking.

4 year contract for a random Irish EPL reject has Desmonds grubby paws all over it.

He still believes signing random Ireland international players will get the fans on side, it’s the “sugar daddy” version of thinking 4-4-2 hoof it to the big guy is still tactical innovation.

 

Would have better keeping broony.

 

Very harsh on him on here. I actually think he would be excellent in a side playing akin to Rodgers team- controlling the game etc. This Angeball doesn't suit him at all. He slows it down too much.
