Celtic 1 - 1 Dundee United

I disagree that he is out of his depth, yes we should have beaten Dundee United at home today but we were playing some fantastic stuff before we picked up so many injuries to key players. I highly doubt we would attract any other manager that could do any better than the squad we currently have available.

 

This fiasco goes right back to March … 3 and a half fkkn months letting a ho-hum manager - who was never going to drag himself away from his cosy south coast existence - play us like a fiddle.

Whether Ange was the answer or not… the self damaging dithering and hanging on put us at a huge disadvantage before the season even got going…

….. the board are 100% responsible for that.

Ange has problems outwith his doing and control…. but even still.. his selections are erratic and inconsistent. His substitutions ill-timed and often baffling… and he seems to have a ‘Lennon-esque’ stubbornness about him (despite the differing styles) that prevents him from turning around games that are perfectly ‘turnaroundable’.

Something is critically wrong with our recruitment and fitness regimes when it comes to injuries. It isn’t all just bad luck… and we wouldn’t be in as bad a state as we are right now if we had that side of things being run properly.

Utterly depressing … and still only September.

 

Missed the start of the game and now reading the match report in bbc , united had a 16 year old in defence !! I know we have a lot of injuries but we should have more than enough to win that game today

 

I covered this part in my last post, the guy has no plan B never mind a plan C, he keeps the same system even when he doesn't have the players for that system, he doesn't know how to win ugly, you need that, some games you need to win 1-0 with a new but ugly system, Ange comes across that he has 1 system and that's to steamroll other sides, that isn't working here, no chance!

 

Because the board have refused to invest in the sports science and medical side of the backroom staff, and no doubt equipment as well, leaving our players being badly prepared for the high tempo system Ange wants to play. Especially when we are playing 2 games every week. It's taken over 3 months to bring in a head of sports science, which I would expect Ange has been screaming out for since he first came in.

 

With * like you buying into Desmonds propaganda of 12 new players is why we are where we are. Too many fans accept 8 mediocre players out of 12 as good business. Bla bla 12 players * me how stupid can you be? We needed the double of that of starting players, not 8 * squad players the we won't see again like Shaw, Urhoghide etc. Why are so many supporters happy with mediocrity? 3 years ago we where a 100m turnover club and even before covid that went down to 70m!

It's the worst Celtic squad I can remember.

You take away Hart, McGregor, Kyogo and you're left with a seriously poor starting XI.

There are some other decent players in the squad - Forrest, Jota, Rogic, Turnbull. But for various reasons are very ineffective when they don't have the better players around them.

That's a real red flag.

Two wins from seven is appalling and Ange has a lot to answer for.

Manager certainly carries part of the blame, if players arent available for his desired setup then he has to be flexible.

Seems he only knows how to play one way which is a major * worry!

Correct. Also we lost against an out of form covid scum squad too with most of our players fit.
