Probably done a million times, but it's a good way to harvest suggestions...

    Any system, any era...

    1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

    2. The Last of Us.

    3. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes/ The Phantom Pain.

    4. Bloodborne.

    5. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

    6. Resident Evil 4.

    7. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

    8. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

    9. Death Stranding.

    10. Dead Space.

Honourable mentions: Dead Space 2, GTA 4/5, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Assassin's Creed II, Red Dead Redemption 2, Dishonored, Uncharted 3/4, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed/ Jedi Fallen Order, * of War 1-3, Tomb Raider (new series), RE 7: Biohazard, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima.

Disappointments : TLOU PT 2 (* that game), Resident Evil 2/3 remake (meh), Metal Gear Rising (garbage), All assassin's creed games after 2 and before "Origins" (copy and paste *), Call of Duty games (seriously don't see the appeal, it's just run and shoot, run and shoot.)

    Hit me...

Pretty hard trying to decipher best game, as with me there's games with great story, games that took up most my time, games that changed gaming.

I'm not going to put 1-10, going to put in my 10 best games for one reason or another.

Championship Manager - before FM was the brand, it was Champ Manager before the breakaway, put so many hours into this. Just think whilst it was still very detailed it isn't like the current FM series which for me is too complexes and time consuming. The evolution for me of the brilliant Football Director on speccy.

Half Life - The first game that made me go wow, was brilliant with everything going * up and the character interaction. Phenomenonal game.

PES - Whatever guise it comes in, the best footy series for me, not sure what the future holds but ML became my new FM experience.

Blade Runner - Best Adventure game I've played, Amiga game, one of the first games I can recall with multiple endings. Graphics were excellent for the time and the soundtrack like the movie is by far the greatest, even think the great Vangelis contributed to some of them.

The Witcher - never played any previous games and no knowledge of the story. But what a game the story with the varied choices were brilliant, obviously the graphics were something else too, this is probably the 2nd best console game of this type I've played and closest to RDR for me.

Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 - The best story game I've played, the freedom and genre just helps too. My favourite console game and probably ranks upside all time. I did actually think the 2nd was better, guess that story background helped as you already knew characters and also liked Arthur better too than John.

GTA 4 - fav criminal action game of this type of genre, just shading Mafia and The Godfather (someone mentioned Driver, that was brilliant too) . Some didn't like Nico, but I loved him and the story, they have been a brilliant series of games but this is my fav.

Assassins Creed - My fav series of games, love the story but I will admit they're ripping the * out.it now. I do love the stories. Fav one was probably Black Flag, as I love Pirates, best character is Altair, just shading Ezio who had a brilliant series of games.

Mugsy - Speccy classic for me, gangster game not riddled with action but some amount of time I put into that.

Rebelstar - Another absolute classic for me, used to play with my brother battling the aliens taking control of different characters. Childhood memories. The Dad to UFO series.

Notable mentions - The old and new Tomb Raider, the oldies were classic and the new ones have been absolute brilliant.

Unchartered - The male version of Tomb Raider, absolute brilliant stories though with a great cast of characters.

Call of Duty - Great series of games, can't mind what one it is but the invasion of US one was by far the best, what a game. Also there was another that felt like Black Hawk Down, remember that with the downed helicopter.

Medal of Honor - Actually preferred these ones. Love the Afghans one and the first with the beach invasion is up there with one of the greatest openings of any games.

Broken Sword - Great series of games, actually got the latest one still to play. Just watching the story playtgrough of the previous. Great story, characters with mix of fun and suspense.

It Came from the Desert - another timeless classic for me, 1 & 2 were brilliant. Also loved the music.

    1. Assassins creed 3 (but all in the series are class)
    2. Uncharted 3 (again, all are terrific)
    3. GTA 5
    4. Resident Evil
    5. Command and Conquer: Red Alert (all are superb though)
    6. Streets of rage 2
    7. Tekken 2
    8. Sensible Soccer
    9. War Hawk
    10. Tetris

I’m sure there are others that might sneak into the top 10, but these are the ones that come to mind just now.

    Notable mentions:
Golden Axe, street fighter, wonder boy, sonic the hedgehog (back in the day with no saves I used to leave it on pause for days!), need for speed, broken sword series, MGS series, time crisis 2, Tony Hawk (can’t mind actual name but it was for the ps1 or 2), Road rash.

There was also an arcade Simpson’s and Turtles game in which 4 people could play at once! From memory, they used to have them at Butlins. I spent so much money on them whenever we were there.

    No particular order

    GTA San Andreas
    Mass Effect 2
    Dead Space
    Silent Hill 2
    Resident Evil
    Assassins Creed 2
    Watchdogs
    Skyrim

    Mind has went blank.

Silent Hill messed with my mind though. That is the scariest game ever.

Actually Silent Hill The Room (think it was 4?) was pretty * up as well. 2 was terrifying though.

LA Noire as well haha. Tremendous game.

I have the 4 disc complete edition of LA Noire.

Has that game ever been replicated? Seems like with the advancement in graphics the interrogations could take on a whole new meaning.

No room for Horace Goes Skiing (ZX Spectrum), Double Dragon (SNES) or Tetris (Gameboy)

Haven’t been a gamer for years. Last console I got excited for was the SNES. Whilst these games may be dated, they are very relevant for me and the games that inspired creators to make their own games.
