    Physically Murray looked fine yesterday. It's getting used to playing a lot of competitive matches again and improving his level of play again that he needs to sort out.

    I get the strongest of feelings there will be a new Men’s US Open Champion this year.
    Oh and yes what a performance from 18 year old Alcaraz,already a fine match player.
    Seems at long last a new era in Men’s Tennis has come through the door,with several players ready to grab the spoils from this day on.
    And the Women’s game is looking pretty healthy as well.

    Djokovic is still the favourite, barring injury. Medvedev probably the biggest threat to him winning the CYGS. I quite like Medvedev so wouldn’t mind seeing him picking up his first slam.

    In fact, Djokovic is the only remaining male player in the tournament who has won a slam.

    Medvedev should reach the final again and yes has a very realistic chance to win here.
    I think Nishikori is going to give Novak a stern test today.

    Nishikori is a player who is consistent in getting through the first few rounds of a slam, but I don't think he's gone beyond a quarter final. Not surprised Djokovic took control of the match after the first set.

    The big surprise now is that Barty is out, I had her as favourite for the title after Osaka was eliminated. WTA is so unpredictable.
