There’s actually two men on Morelos. Starfelt isn’t even that far from the ball either and Helander is about 3 inches taller.

If anything you can slate him for Goldson getting in front of him, he’s got a handful of Goldson’s shirt too. Helander just comes screaming in behind and meets a good ball in, almost can’t defend it.

Since you're being a bit of a * the night, I'll have to ask you AGAIN, what does that have to do with his * poor attempt at jumping for the ball?

Not in that marking system anyway, if it’s man on man there’s a better chance imo.

Well maybe if another player was in said zone he wouldn’t need to deal with that himself, he’s been left isolated by the zonal marking and his teammates not doing their job properly.

Aye you don’t start a corner right on your man if they are starting from that far away from the goal. They’ve all got a man and there’s two on Morelos for some reason. Helander is free. It’s horrendous as a unit.

    It’s not zonal. It’s not man. It’s just a * riot.

I know it’s on video I’ve watched it plenty and the angle the huns released shows it even more.

The definition of doing the job of 2 men. What that picture doesn’t show is his starting position is literally touch tight to Goldson and he’s back peddling to try and cover for whoever should be marking the on rushing Helander.

Decent attempt and absolutely not his fault.

Thank *, now we can stop talking about it.

It literally is that 3 inch difference, probably less.

Doesn't look like a pathetic jump to me. Same jump as a guy who had a run on him but just happens to be 3" taller.

And what about the fact he is fouling Goldson there and did so for every set piece in the match?

What that picture doesn't show is how late he decided to jump, or the full motion of it. It was a pathetic attempt.

    Our defence is too small.

Absolutely it is. Jullien can’t come back quick enough and even then we are lightweight back there. Would love if we just signed a big centre half tomorrow or even a midfielder with some physicality and height to help at set pieces. It’s a glaring weakness in our team that needs sorted with urgency.

If you’re jumping to head the ball you don’t hold onto someone’s shirt that is stood on the ground.
Did they not teach him that yet?

So it's not his jump now it's the penalty he didn't give away?

*tongue is firmly in and around my cheek*

He’s holding his shirt to stop him jumping because despite that being his man he’s having to go and compete for the ball with someone else’s.

Clearly not going to find common ground, I think you’re take on it is so wide of the mark.

You do if he’s your man and you don’t want him competing for the baw in the air whilst you’re away doing someone else’s job for them.

I feel as if I’m defending a guy here as if he’s my best mate - I know he’s been ropey as * at times and made far too many mistakes but my point about Sunday is he wasn’t to blame. He played well and the goal wasn’t his fault. That’s it.

Honestly? Where exactly is his fellow CB or let’s say other teammates support? The whole defence of the corner is a shambles, but aye let’s * it onto Starfelt because he at least tried to defend it.

Absolutely - * knows when Jullien will be back - it will take him a while to get match fit - even then he's been pushed around before in the league by players like Dykes.

I really think we should have brought in an experienced tough centre half (even someone like Cahill for a season) to organize that defence as Ange builds the team/squad he wants).

    Doubt it will happen now.
