    The guy is a bombscare.
When he touches the ball, you get Ambrose and Duffy flashbacks, fearing the worst.

You don’t think Edouard’s miss is on the same level as Starfelt’s defending in terms of the outcome of the game?

Both changed the outcome. Kyogo choosing not to square it to Christie changes the outcome of the game.

Helander is taller than Starfelt and had a run up. As I said of course he can put up a better challenge and if Helander was his man I’d be in here spewing. But he was on Balogun and Helander comes out of nowhere. That’s on the defensive unit as a whole not to recognise the free man. If he left his man to pick up Helander and Balogun scores, what would we be saying?

I’m not a fan of Starfelt but I think he played pretty good today

I thought starfelt did quiet well in the game today tbh. Like Ralston he didn't take any * from the scum and didn't jump into to any needless tackles.

Welsh was supposed to pick up helander at the corner not him.

@Minty I agree he should have made more of a challenge. Needs to be a * of a challenge though. It’s a great ball and he’s met it well from a running start.

But I think his mistakes in past games which I’ve mentioned in here are making people pile on him for this.

People wouldn’t be talking about it if it was Welsh. If Starfelt came in and was solid until now we wouldn’t be having this convo.

He’s got a lot to do to prove he’s good enough to be here.

Dunno why the quote didn’t work but I saw your post.

I thought this was his best game as everyone else around him shunk in their duties.

I didn't quote it correctly, sorry. There is a bit of a pile on to be fair, but honestly I'm really concerned about this guy in big games. As ever I'll be delighted if over the course of the season he proves he's good enough to be here, but there's been a few concerning signs so far.

Needs a run of games without making any major mistakes, still think there is a decent player there, but it's not been a great start for him in a Celtic jersey.

Not just a running start, we gave their tallest player a 10 yard run from the edge of our box. Surely whether marking zonal or man for man, you have to have someone watching him and preventing that clear run.

Starfelt won or done well at just about every set play they had in either clearing the danger or doing enough to deny them a free header. He has had an indifferent start but that wasn’t his fault today, there were a fair few culpable for that defeat today before him.

Felt he had a good game. We all know that wee rat will fall as soon as you look at him. Starfelt made sure his challenges where made well outside the box where they couldn't hurt us with free kicks (if that makes sense) back 4 did a decent job.

I slated the guy after Thursday night but I felt he was actually one of our more solid performers today give him his due. Goal aside which I felt Welsh let helander go

Would be better in a back 3 with less onus to be a ball player.

Starfelt must have more to come. I'd say he's probably just settling in! We need a left sided defender playing on the left.

He was supposed to be a defender that could pass the ball out of defense but he does look uncomfortable at times. He has put in good performances too so I think he probably just needs some time.

Actually thought he was decent overall today.

Reminds me of Sviatchenko though, gets far too tight and commits too many fouls. Still a few slack passes but defended better IMO.

The goal we conceded today is part of a much bigger problem, and one that we have had for a while now. Who the * is in charge of our defensive set up from set pieces? That was a shambles again today. Letting Helander get a free run and jump is schoolboy stuff, but I can only assume we deliberately didn’t have anyone man to man with him.
