Great work Taz, and a deserved winner for the greatest film of all time.

Because it was released in 1968, and as I posted on a couple of occasions prior to the posting of the official Nominations list, that had decided that as there were so many 1960s films nominated that will do a dedicated 1960's Rankdown seperate from this edition.

It still works though, as the 'Golden Age' ended in 1963-66 (depending if the line is drawn at the conclusion of the old 'studio system' or the end of the Hays 'Production Code', so the 1960s will be interesting in itself, the shifting tone and feel from the early years where they were still technically under the 'Golden Age', through a period of lifted restrictions that meant by the end of the decade the films had a completely different tone and possibilities were being stretched, as exemplified by something like Rosemary's Baby for the horror genre. :)

Does that give us an inclination of the age group that took part in the Golden Years, especially the 50s

Great work, sorry just got round to going through this.

I did mention that It's a Wonderful Life would win, but I still prefer White Christmas to it.
