Europa League Group Stage Draw | 27/08/21

Wish to * uefa would hurry up and announce the dates.

 

Tough group, need to add a bit of steel to the team, too many lightweights

 

Tough group but some very good games there.

Get a defence in and we’ll equip ourselves well.

 

Had a quick look at betis squad some noticable players in there in Fekir,Guardado,Tello,Juanmi,Carvalho,Bartra

 

Was it not bartra who scored that last second goal against us at the nou camp when we were heading for a draw in 2012/13, name rings a bell. Broke my heart that goal.

 

No question they have a very good side. Have seen them play many times over the past few seasons and I would actually say they are quite like us at the moment in the sense that they are very good going forward with lots of goals in the team. But defensively they are very dodgy. Can't see either of our games against Betis been 0-0.

 

Tough group. On paper Leverkusen top that group and I would expect them to press us high and cause a lot of issues out wide to us.
Betis, for me, is a lovely match-up. Think both teams play differently so this could be an interesting game of two clubs that are probably on a similar size currently.
They are an older squad than us, they don't quite have the pace that we do and I reckon our attacking approach will see us get a victory - or two - against them.
Ferencravos, well well well, old foes and some form of settling and old score. If they are much the same as last time we faced them, I expect us to smash them.


But that is all on paper.



Happy with the draw, we can get through it.
But it isn't easy at all.

 

No question a very tough draw for us. We will be doing well to get out of this group but exciting games to look forward to all the same.

 

9-11points is my guess/hope.
2nd place is possible, but if we miss out on it by a point to Betis, I won't be too upset (assuming we put in a good showing throughout)

Need to be taking 6 points from Ferencvaros if we want to finish top 2.

 

3 teams that play in green in our group. Unusual.
