I’ve read that was managers instructions, Christie was to shoot on site. Which makes me actually feel bad to be fair.

Does he not usually start seasons red hot, before fading out?

I think he suits Ange’s style and would be a useful player, but I’d be all for his departure if it means another Abada/Kygo-level signing(s) coming in.

His work rate and energy will be important against AZ away.

Difficult when his mind is probably set on England.

We should be scouting a replacement right now.

Really. That was the thing that irritated me to the point I went from liking him to wanting him dropped.

Now I'm feeling bad too :54:.

Pretty sure we will be/have, but as usual won't do * until he's out the door.

I've said before, a 2year extension with the promise of a move next summer or a buyout valuation would suit both sides best. He'd get chance to go out as reformed and hopefully as a champion, while earning better wages, and we'd get him playing for the big move and a full transfer fee. Can't see it though, as he'll probably pick up a decent transfer already, and especially if it's for a free transfer

Back in the squad for tomorrow, which is a huge boost especially in terms of being able to rotate and rest one or two players.

Yes I would imagine he will start on Saturday and maybe give Kyogo a rest from the start and start Edouard as well up front.

Get him to sign an 18 month deal, which gives him time to properly show what he can do and also ensures us at least 8-10 million.

100% weve offered him an insulting contract look at our history in dealing with our own players going back as far as time, and if you want anymore proof look at how we haggle and low ball offer for players we want from other clubs ? we drag it out hoping the other club will get fed up with the hassle and just let their player go for 50grand less

christie put his body in the line and got a bad injury in europe and then later on that season get his cheekbone smashed in semi final i bet we rewarded him with a * contract thereafter
, its our style we see a great attitude from a player and turn it against them to make a few bucks, we have a long history of this sort of *
our club dont seem to know how to treat people and rely on the celtic brand feeling the magical celtic irish feeling to push things through

we should offer fair deals for players and should get rid of this nasty insulting process of being known cheap skates that end up turning former celtic idols into haters of the club

nothing wrong with trying to shave a few pounds off but when we seem to have a mechanized attitude of being instutuional insulting cheap skates then its got to be changed

SOUTHAMPTON are working on a move for Celtic’s Ryan Christie — but are willing to wait until he is free.

The Scotland attacking midfielder, 26, is out of contract at the end of the year and available for a low price before this window shuts.

Ironically the deal could be accelerated if former Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong moves on from St Mary’s.

Saints could step in while Burnley and Sheffield United have him further down their wanted lists.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche may turn to him if the price is right as the summer transfer window is slowly coming to an end.

Christie could sign a pre-contract with one of his suitors now and go in January, but pals say he does not want to risk being sidelined by Celtic.

Southampton are also trying to agree a deal with Dundee United for highly -rated defender Kerr Smith, 16, who has been chased by a raft of Premier League clubs.

Christie joined Celtic in 2015 following an impressive two-year spell at Inverness.

The midfielder was sent back to the Caley Thistle on loan in the same year and then spent a year in Aberdeen until he returned to the Hoops' senior squad in 2018.

The 26-year-old has since amassed a total of 41 goals and 44 assists in 149 appearances for Celtic.

The Scotland international played 46 times for the Bhoys across all competitions last season.

Christie made such a good impression in the Scottish Premiership that he earned an international call-up for Euro 2020.

He'll go to Southampton. No question about it.

We should be looking for a replacement.

    McCann!!!

Noticed he was given the arm band when McGregor went off. Really thought there was a huge chance of him staying. However, get Lovric in now. Sell him this window, even for a couple of mill and get Lovric in now. Turnbull and Rogic can play that attacking midfield role no problem. Hoped he would stay though.
