He may very well sign a 4 year contract but a 26 year old still has sell on value.

If a 26 year old striker came to us for say 3 million, in 2 seasons he scores 25 goals a season then at 28 a lot of clubs would look at him, especially the EPL clubs.
Some relegation fodder down there could easily pay 20 million for a 28 year old goal scorer in the hope it's enough to avoid relegation.

So a 17 million profit and the selling club gets 15% of that, that's another 2.5 million!

It's only smart to include a sell on clause these days, and 26 years old is hardly at the end of a players career.

 

I am wondering who our other targets for ST are? I am not that sure we were seriously in for Henry, if by Ange’s words, Giakoumakis is one of 3 plan A’s I wonder who the other two are?

I still think Edouard will go before the window, Palace with a 0-0 today I think they and Wolves being mentioned might come in, possibly West Ham.
