No doubt about it. Gave the team a chance to establish themselves in the game. Came very early on obviously but was a massive moment in the game.

I am so happy to have a commanding keeper back again. Gordon, Boruc and Forster on good days provided it but let's be honest, even at his most average Hart has always been the better keeper.

I feel like we've pulled an ace from our sleeve by signing him, especially considering how Ange wants to play - unfairly chucked on the garbage heap by Guardiola in exchange for Claudio Bravo (* LOL), and has been looking for the right fit until now.

Great shot stopper, good commanding presence, good communicator and 75 caps for England. Exactly what we need for a young backline and the bombscare that is Starfelt.

 

Always rated hart and still think he’s better than dinosaur arms

 

Like Hart, but disagree that he was better than Boruc or Forster, particularly at his most average.

 

There were a few seasons where he was genuinely world class for man city, gets overlooked because of his decline when pep came in. There's not much in it, boruc and forster at their peak were absolute monsters too

 

Boruc was good but a constant bombscare and Forster was good but not amazing. Just looking at the pedigree of which clubs they've played for and their national team performances gives an obvious answer before even looking at statistics.

I admit Hart has barely played any matches for us, but I'm fairly happy siding with the Manchester City and England squad selectors over my or anyone else's rose tinted glasses.

I'm unsure how keepers - that spent lengthy stints of their time at on the bench or at lower league clubs like Stockport, Bristol, Norwich or at clubs like Fiorentina and Southampton where both were criticised for being unfit and, well, not very good - compare to a four time English Premier League goalkeeper of the season, multiple time EPL, EFA Cup and English League Cup winner, but whatever floats your boat.

That's the great thing about democracy, everyone's opinion is valid, whether it's based on reality or rose-tinted glasses. You do you pal, I'll stick with reality.

Of course, Hart is looking like a very good signing so far. Would say that Boruc did start to lose it towards the end, but before that he was * awesome. Forster was just colossal for us.

Some mental views on goslkeepers on this forum, loads of folk convinced Barkas would come good, when there is never a keeper in there, and now Boruc and Forster's abilities, with us, being down played. It's all about opinions I guess!

 

At his most average, Hart was pretty * average. Hopefully he can maintain his good form and rebuild himself here, but let’s not kid ourselves here - he went through a very poor spell, during which he was much worse than peak Forster or peak Boruc. That’s reality.

To suggest Forster wasn’t amazing here is utter madness, frankly. He was unreal.

 

I'm going to be honest I always thought of him as the most English * imaginable.

Some of his interviews and carry-on really made me see him as a complete and utter *.

I can't believe how much that has changed.

Like I'm struggling to cope with how much I actually like him, not just as a keeper but as a person too. Now I feel guilty as * for all the previous bad thoughts I had about him

 

Sure many of us on here have called him a * a few times especially when he played for England

but he's one of us now
