I feel I'm well and truly carried away with excitement with the way were playing but it was almost, Tierney-esque. Were all finally seeing why he was so highly rated as a youth. Coaches claiming he would be scotlands best rb etc etc. Well, at this rate he will be.

I missed the game last night for family reasons (all good) but was Ralston actually that good? Or is it a case we've been * down that side for that long now that someone doing their job is coming across as being tremendous?

He's been looking solid recently - i'm probably someone else who might owe him an apology in the coming weeks.

Thrown in at the deep end for one game then taken out, this is his first real run of games.

I'm beginning to wonder how much Rodgers playing him against Neymar in that game set him back. Looking back at this thread it is all pretty positive until that PSG game, then I think his confidence took an absolute hammering after that performance.

It's good to see him stepping it up again now, I think having a manager that seems to believe in him has done wonders for him and his game.

He’s been fantastic. Still, he’s ultimately keeping Juranovic’s seat warm as harsh as that sounds.

Ive absolutely hammered the guy on here, time and time again.

He made the odd rash decision and stray pass last night but I can live with that for now, overall he was excellent. Put himself about, ran himself into the ground and made some really important interceptions

Deserves all the plaudits he's getting. If he keeps this up, Juaranovic will have to work to get him out. Also, another contract. Gotta do it over the season but he's on the right path. Pleased for him.

Juranovic if he eventually signs has a fight on his hands, cos right now Ralstons up there with our best players.

I remember saying to my brother that night, when we saw the starting line-up, that this could be a huge risk to the guy’s confidence.

Isn’t just ‘confidence’ in the sense of boldness or self-assurance either. It’s deeper than that, because when you come up against someone who’s so far ahead of you, it’s harder to learn lessons about what to improve on. There’s so many things he’ll do better than you that you feel like you’re just getting beaten all ends up. Whereas, when your opponent is someone not world class but just that bit above your level, you’re better able to pinpoint what to do to take yourself to that level, if that makes sense.

I really believe being tasked with keeping Neymar quiet did set him back literally years.

93 minute in breaking into opponents box
& putting in a great scoring opportunity for our forwards.
The sliding tackle from back post as well, John Collins said it was as important as scoring a goal & it’s true.

It might have had him questioning his future as a footballer. He was so far off it he may well have been thinking I'm never going to be good enough to deal with players like that so what's the point. Especially when it happens at a young age. Gamboa should have played that game but, for whatever reason, Rodgers refused to play him. Which was baffling to me at the time as I'm sure Gamboa had played against Neymar shortly before in an international match and had done pretty well.

It's speculation about how much that game affected him, but it really wouldn't surprise me if it had a huge impact.

His lack of luck & confidence last year would have seen him fire that spectacularly into the back of our net. Would have been understandable had it happened last night in the circumstances.
Very fine margins with things like that :84:

You know something. He played one game last year, against Livingston for the youth team we had to put out and he put a belter of a cross in, and Okoflex missed a sitter from it.

See if that goes in, we win 0-0 Ralston gets plaudits, he plays infront of Kenny who * the Hun games for us… * might have went differently.

In the country? More like the world, I would have struggled to find anyone around the globe that I wouldn't start in front of Tony last year but now he's one of my first names on the team sheet
