I would disagree and say it is a fair assessment.

Who would I prefer played right back just now? Nobody else. That’s because our board are the most incompetent around, and have decided not to bring a right back in after selling two in January, both who were miles ahead of Ralston. That doesn’t mean we should just settle with Ralston though, that’s exactly what the board would want. People are massively exaggerating his performances because he gives 100%. The fact he was even given a new deal due to our situation was nothing short of laughable. A couple of half decent performances against poor opposition hasn’t changed that.

That he can be second or third choice when the only other RB at the club is O'Connor, who hasn't featured.

That needs sorted quickly, joke it has taken this long. If they are better brilliant.

When it comes to guys like Frimpong, because they're exciting to watch because they have trickery they're forgiven a lot when it comes to the contribution they actually make with regards to assists, key passes, goals etc. Frimpong's return was poor. Ntcham was another example who did a good impression of a decent footballer prancing about the middle of the park but contributed very little when it came to workrate, tackles, key passes, assists and goals (and not just towards the end either).
There are others like Ralston and I'd say even moreso Taylor who don't give the appearance of being good footballers - probably because they both appear to be quite slow and Taylor always looks knackered (but it never actually stops him running) but they actually make a good contribution to the team when it comes to workrate, tackles, link-up play, assists and for Ralston even the odd goal.

Fair points but Taylor is so slow and as a full back for Celtic, just has to have pace.

Didn't realise he's still only 22. Happy for us to get a loanee in of quality and for Ralston to compete as backup/rotation with an extended contact. Maybe been a bit harsh on him in the past, lots of learning to do and deserves first team game time given his performances so far this season. Stepped up more than Kenny, toljan, Bauer etc ever did.

He has been outstanding in the first 40 mins today again. Very strong in the tackle as well. Great to see. Keep it going Tony

Said it before, some players need a run to gain confidence and get match sharp. Ralston getting that opportunity for the first time in 3 years.

Aye, great performance from him today.

Looks to be growing every week as a player.

    Fair play.

Superb today. Lots of involvement and looking calmer and more control with every game.

Some good runs in behind and would actually have liked Forrest and others to have used that more.
