Watched some of St J game last night, reckon the guy has it. And would suit our new style, looks to move the ball quickly.

A Galatasaray player got man of the match and by all accounts McCann was the second best player on the park

... And his team got beat 4-2

With his engine and use of the ball, he suits our new style and he has proven against Galatasaray home and away that he can make the step up. We need a large squad due to our style of play. It's going to cause burnout really quickly and Ange has proven already that he is quite proactive in squad management.

We'd be stupid to pass on McCann. Especially for around the £2m-£3m mark. I really want us to sign him.

Criminal if we don’t try & get this lad. Has played brilliant against the Turks both games and done well v Italy. If there was a player out there to suit us in this given moment, then it’s him.

Don’t know how accurate the report was and it was a little while ago but a fee between £1.75-2m was being mentioned but that might have been speculation. St J want a record fee for him but it think that meets that for them.

I'm pretty sure that the said any offer would break their previous record, which was £1.75m. I reckon it'll be between £2m-£3m, which I think is a fair price.

This would be a steal, I really rate him and think he would suit Anges system perfectly.

Can see this boy ending up at the huns unfortunately, with rogic looking back to his best and mccarthy signing and the fact christie can play in there and with turnbull , calmac and soro there we are top heavy in midfield and i think game time would be limited here

This system is going to be draining on our midfield. I'd take him now. They'd all play a fairly decent amount of games this season.

Christie may be leaving. In fact, everything points to that right now.

Not unless his contract is running out, because there's no way they're dropping a £2-3M transfer fee on a Scottish player now, after missing out on CL

Commentators kept mentioning 3 mill last night in that first half..

I'd pay it later in the window after we've sorted more pressing position's..

No way the Huns go for him at that money..

Aye I’ve convinced myself they sell Kamara, Goldson and Tavenier.
    Bring in him, Davies from
Liverpool on loan and have Patterson as Tavenier’s replacement. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Other teams besides us and the huns will be taking note of him if his performances against galatasaray were as good as people are saying, just assuming we can wait and he'll sit waiting for us to come get him is a dangerous game, could end up missing the boat like mcginn. If we actually want him and it's a fair price there's no point * about.

Wouldn’t be against this one tbh, some of the players we’ve signed in the past have been an even bigger gamble. Each time I’ve seen him play he looks decent!

Wouldn't be a bad shout trying to buy him and loan him back to St Johnstone for the season. Looks a good player but needs as much game time as he can get now.

If we miss out on him it will feel a bit like the Ivan Toney situation all over again

The McCarthy signing makes this a no go. We will be dedicating funds to defence no way we take this lad when we have McCarthy, McGregor, Soro, Shaw (and he played Bitton last night as well) all capable of playing that deeper position. I would like him but it's not happening.

It looks like we are backing out funding a RB in favour of a loan fee so there's no way we are forking out for a position we actually have cover in.

The only problem I see with this is both McCarthy and Rogic’s fitness which undoubtedly will be a factor. Not sure if shaw is good enough at the moment Soro can be a bit rash and tbh a headless chicken. McGregor and Turnbull are the main stays but should be rested where possible. All of a sudden the engine room can be vulnerable. I personally think there’s room for McCann.Especially if it allows for squad rotation
