Was thinking the same myself. Really think he is coming back to his old self.

 

He's stepped into the captain's role with ease and his game is so sharp this term.

 

He has been impressive both in his form and taking over as captain. We still have plenty of issues to sort out with the team but McGregor's return to form and his taking over from Brown as captain has been very good.

 

I just keep thinking about the huddle he got the team into after the game yesterday and how happy it makes me. A sign of him leading from the front and a unity within the team.

I certainly doubted whether or not he could step into the role as the permanent captain and wondered if not having Brown there would allow him to do so. If yesterday is anything to go by, he certainly is stepping up and the passion in his face says it all. The reaction from the crowd was brilliant too, as we all love to see things like that.

It’s because a lot of football fans are very myopic in what leadership actually is.

 

I think as fans we should be more aware of the players qualities when judging them. I was staggerd beyond belief to hear that Ryan Christie was told to shoot on sight for the whole of last season and it instantly changed my opinion of him. I never thought nderstood any criticism of calmac last year either as he was playing a different role in the team and was throwing himself into everything. While it looked like other players were downing tools as they say, calmac was one doing press conferences in a state of shock and looking very emotional about it all. Not many players get pass marks for last season for hard work, calmac does in my opinion. Class player and proud as * to have him come through our system. My captain every day of the week

And any * not prepared to buy into that, GTF.

 

I think his best position is as a box to box midfielder he has got a few goals in him but he will more than lightly be now playing as a defensive midfielder due to the attacking options at our disposal.

 

I think he'll be playing in a more dynamic role than a sitting DM, which is the way it should be as he's too talented to just sit deep. McCarthy and Soro are more likely candidates to be ball winning midfielders.

 

Even if he is placed in our starting lineup where you'd think a more sitting CM/DM should be, in this system with the fullbacks pushing in more centrally our whole midfield has a much higher line, he'll still contribute plenty to our attacking play especially domestically when we have teams penned in around their box.

Had one iffy moment that nearly cost us a goal second half but was quality all game. The way in which he always receives the ball from Hart and gets us on the move, vitally important..

Slagged him to * last year but he's back..

 

What a player this man is. Phenomenal.

 

He's a class act. I'd like him slightly further forward though, he's such a goal threat.

 

Unbelievable player man.

 

Absolute tremendous showing tonight... iniesta like. Wouldn’t be surprised one bit if big bids come in from down south this summer but they can ram it.

 

Proof that form is temporary and class is permanent, minus the wee blip with the back pass he was superb and ran the midfield.
