Even if he plays for season under Ange, it will propel him towards a much better move, whilst having an absolute ball..

    There's no scapegoating about it.

He was a * disgrace last season. And the season before he wasn't much better.

He's getting all the plaudits for his performance yesterday, and deservedly so, but for me he still has alot to prove.

I'll hold off on breaking out the tissues for a this wankfest that has emerged over ONE performance, and I certainly won't be forgetting the 50 odd performances that came before it.

If he proves he's on board with what the manager is doing and takes his * ego out if his game, then absolutely, sign him up.

But Im not forgetting how he's spent the majority to two season's past trying to engineer a move for himself by trying * worldies every second touch of the ball, and primarily playing for Ryan Christie, and not Celtic FC.

Alot of fans would do well to remember his past attitudes and performances. I highly doubt that they've disappeared overnight or after a chat with Ange.

But as It said. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong. When he plays like he did yesterday, he's worth every penny if his wages.

Agree, it’s the difference between a move to Burnley/Norwich/Crystal Palace or Arsenal/Leeds/Leicester, where he’ll have more chance to show his qualities because he’s around other quality players.

Honestly, considering how little time left he has on his contract I can't see teams paying more than a mil for him and in that case I don't think we would sell, which I think would be the correct decision. 6 months of Christie in this form is prob worth more to us than the peanuts we'll get as a fee.

I'm 99% sure it is a year left (well 10 months now).

The only ever suggestion or inclination to it being done in January seems to come from when he first signed for us.
Some folk seem to have confused things and now too many, media included, are running with this daft January end to his contract.

He'd have signed for a new club two months ago on a bosman if that was the case.

Hes made me feel like iv got a full on split personality after hating him so much.

He's some player in this system. Last year he was honking but so was the entire team. Put him on this pressing, attacking, goal scoring system and he looks genuinly top class and suits his game. Has vision I never knew he had because he would just shoot normally. I'd happily offer the contract hes after now. Weve spare in the budget and your going to struggle replacing that for £4m, so use that on his wages.

BTW never thought I'd ever say any of that last season and now he's even better looking this season :fear:

Think the most important thing is to keep him, whether its Jan, end of the season, whatever. We have turned our snout up at 8M for Boyata, 14 for Nicham, so a poxy few quid for Christie is no big deal.
Guy has been playing well under Ange, sure he was awful along with most others last season but its all about the here and now. His goal midweek and assists yesterday were not flukes, guy is class in a functioning set up.

I'm still holding resentment on the * :56:
But aye he has became a much better player this season, so far.

Still an element of greed to his game at times, but on the whole he has been great.
Yesterday was fantastic to see him setting up so many goals as well! Here's hoping he realises what sort of credit and praise that can bring him as well, rather than the glory shots that hit the back of the stands.

His cutting him from that left flank was superb yesterday.

Honestly, I'm with you though, keeps this up, then he can get that contract.
And I really didn't want to be saying that :56:

I was thinking that. Kyogo and Christie are a match made in heaven for us. It's been a long time since I saw such a pairing at Celtic and an outstanding one at that.

Definitely agree! We had a wage budget the same/very similar to Lazios under Rodgers and they had players like milinkovic-Savic and Immobile who were in very high wages, so it’s not as if we cannot afford the wages, even more so as we’ve got rid of majority of the higher earners.

That type of thing should really be clarified by someone at the club IMO, a bit like Kennedy with the Dembele situation.

I completely understand the club keep most information quiet but that type of thing shouldn’t be left so ambiguous. They sign a player and tell us how many years they have, they should be clarifying how long is left.

It's clear as day there is a confusion (although I'm pretty * sure I'm right), the club must know this and a little update in some fashion woudlnt go a miss.

During the pre season games on celtic tv they were saying his contract is up in January, so that is what I have been going off of. Honestly the way the club has been run over the last few years it wouldn't surprise me if no one actually knows when it ends, including Christie and the club!

I'll stand corrected if so. I will have missed that.

Just makes zero sense that the contract would run like that though.
Sure he signed in January initially, but a lot of players do, and it is normally a 3.5 or 4.5 year deal.

He then signed a new deal in October/November in 2018(?) which would be even more stupid if we made that a 3year and 2 month deal.

His through ball for Kyogo's 3rd was sublime.
