Does he have any future at Celtic or has he hit his ceiling.

I mean how much can a player seriously improve really?

No doubting his attitude and willingness to put in a performance, but is able to do what other RB's might see as average and push himself every game?

I think he will get a lot of games this season, with another loan joining leaving us needing 2 right backs next season (we need 2 now but it will be worse next season).

We need a RB to at least ensure he has competition. Maybe this will mean he maintains his excellent form.

Sign a right back as competition for Ralston :56:

    * it, lets sign a keeper who can push on Barkas and Bain as well then.

I said "at least". Right now, Ralston has the best form in our team. That is a damning assessment, but I'd at least want him to keep it up.

He scored a cracker the other night, but his overall performance was *. How many times did he needlessly give it away? Listen, the guy will give his all, which is more than some can say right now, but he is hopeless, that is the reality of it. He should have been released at the end of the season and two right backs immediately brought in. We are a comedy show.

You cant fault his desire that’s for sure. He can actually beat a man and put a decent cross in. Sure he’s popped up with a couple of assists in his few games. Something we just can’t get on the left.

I’m pretty harsh on the lad much like nearly every other fan but he was by far one of our best players against Hearts.

I take my hat off to the guy as he is at least putting in the effort and commitment and has been one of our top performers over the last two games however, he's still not good enough for our RB. We can't forget how poor he was in other games and have to remember that he's been loaned out to other teams for a reason. Some people thought that Ajeti had turned a corner because he scored in a meaningless pre season friendly but he's well out the picture now and we have a guys who doesn't even want to be here getting picked in front of him.

He’s doing well by Ralston standards, not by Celtic standards.

Credit to the guy for his effort. He’s getting an extra year so I think that’s the least we could expect.

Any suggestion he’s been good enough is bollocks though. He’s been brutal apart from that amazing goal and a bit of competent play.

Good enough for back up? I would of said absolutely no chance but done OK so far this season.

He's obviously not fit to be first choice, but I think if he keeps his performances up I'd be ok with him being back-up.

    Taylor on the other hand..

For me, no. 2 new RBs required, Ralston as third choice for absolute emergencies and let him go at the end of the season.

I don’t mean to be harsh on the guy. Huge credit to him for doing what he’s done so far but he’s very limited. Every time I see him go forward (except his goal) I just think to myself if that’s a better RB we do much better here.

I try not to buy into the attitude that if a player isn’t good enough he should get abuse or constant pelters. We all know the script with him. The guy is putting the effort in so gets my support but there’s no shame on him in also saying he isn’t good enough and will be replaced ASAP.

The issue is that for the Europe you have 4 spaces for home-grown talent. Forrest (30), Cal Mac (28), Welsh, Mikey, Ralston.

Even if its 3rd choice right back, it's still useful to have home grown players in the squad to make use of those slots.

Problem is we don't develop enough players, not nearly enough for the size of our club.
