There’s surely some legs to this? Player is ineligible therefore we should be granted a 3-0 win in the second leg. No ifs buts or maybes, it’s pretty clear cut given that the boy was ineligible for the first leg with PSV.

Think that's the case aye, bit of a weird one as the huns have to play a play-off game for the EL if they go out.

I think if this has any legs it'll just be by's to the next round, psv to the CL play off's, us taking Midjytland's spot and Jablonec going to the EL play-off.

I really don’t get this line of thinking. Rules are rules and we were beaten by the narrowest of margins in a razor thin two legged tie. Not that any of that matters. As when Legia pumped us, the fact we were losing 6-1 meant * all and we went through on away goals after being granted the win 3-0.

It’s awkward for UEFA given that the first leg of their tie with PSV has been played but we shouldn’t be punished for that. It would be huge for us if we got Europa League football. Not to mention the fact we COULD beat PSV and earn a monumental cash boost for the club and CL football.

    * Midtjylland. We should go through.

Why was clarification not given at the time of the ban that it was global, or was it? Or was the penalty pending. They would have to hand 3-0 wins to their league games also. I think they'll get fined and nothing more of it.

I think if there is any action taken it may not affect us…

If the issue was (and sounds like it) a grey area up until our ties with FCM :) then they (uefa) might ignore that as an oversight/communications error… but IF they specifically stated prior to the PSV game that Junino couldn’t play then that’s where it gets serious…

Id suspect UEFA will maybe let the second leg go ahead in the expectation that the Danes go out anyway and then just ban them from other European comps this season…

Perhaps still points towards a guaranteed slot for us somewhere…

Apparently FIFA hadn’t notified Midjyttland that the suspension was in place worldwide until Monday (2nd August) therefore it had no bearing on our games. Seemingly Midjyttland thought they had three days to appeal and therefore thought he could be used against PSV on Tuesday.

That being the case, I can’t see it having any effect on us.

I dont agree it was FIFAs fault. The club sign a player, and before they play him, would do the normal checks. They obviously hadnt, otherwise they wouldnt have played him in league and CL games.

Its the clubs fault 100%, and they should suffer the consequences no matter the timetable in accordance with the rules applicable.

It’s not FIFA’s job to be reminding teams that players are banned/ineligible.Teams have to be doing their due diligence beforehand and if in doubt ask the governing body. The Danes tried to pull a fast one and should be punished.

But what happens if we beat Jabolenec? Do they take Midtytlands spot in the group stages, while we (the ones hard done by) just progress to another play off round?

It literally is FIFA’s job to implement suspensions when players move cross-federation :39:

If that’s the case then it gives us more ground to sue uefa who have let the first leg play

I suspect any decision on this will be decided before the Jablonec game tomorrow, if we don't hear anything then we can assume it's a non issue.

That’s a lot of work for FIFA,they must have some team keeping tabs on every players movements around the globe. It’s no wonder they seem to miss some:43:

UEFA usually come down hard on clubs who play ineligible players and when seven years ago the legia Warsaw player was only on for 5 minutes and Celtic were put through and this player played the whole 90 minutes last week and when they bought this player they would probably been told of the ban and just think the admin at the club have * up and you pay the consequences normally in European football .

I would absolutely pish my pants if we were allowed into the CL. Can you imagine the rage from the huns and our supposedly impartial SMSM. It may well go down as one of our best European results over the last few seasons. Get it done UEFA
