I'm pretty uninspired, but again I'd be more than happy to eat a massive slice of humble pie.

Wouldn't be my first pick but let's not kid ourselves on, he's a massive step up in what we have.

I believe Van der Sar was 40 when he won the EPL with Man Utd - 34 is no issue for a GK.

He came in on a 2 year deal then extended it by 2 years a year later, then again in 2017. He was with us 6 years in total.

    Pretty much my view.

Hasn't done a lot lately but as long as he hasn't been squatting in a ditch stuffing berries up his nose he'll do just fine...

Joe Harte has had a couple of poor seasosns but he has the joint most Premier League golden gloves and is England's most capped goalkeeper since Peter Shilton. He is clearly not a completely * goalkeeper and is on another level to what we have currently got. If he can build his confidence and sharpness this could be an excellent move for everyone involved.

Joe Harte is a good communicator and arguably his main strength is dealing with crosses, which as we all know is an area where we struggle. I am also not sure that his ability to play out from the back is as bad as people make out. Torino play a possession style of football and he averaged around 31 passes per game for them, which isn't bad going for a goalkeeper.

My biggest worry signing him was always the wages, felt like we'd need to pay him around 25-35k for him to come here.

15k in hindsight is a really good deal, I'm actually pleasantly surprised he's agreed to that, means he's clearly desperate to come here.

Joe Hart was on 140k a week at Man City, and has earned about 30 to 50 since leaving. He isn't skint and I think he is more bothered about proving people wrong and enjoying his football than sitting collecting 25k from spurs.

Was he not on 40k a week at spurs? Sure I read that from the reports, could be waffling.

He could well be *, but I think he's a step up both Barkas and Bain, both of which I'd be punting and bringing in a new back-up GK.

He’s got to be a step up and he’s going to be more vocal which will help the defence hold and keep position.

My bad 'Hart' is spelt most commonly in Ireland with an E on the end.
