How old is he?

Surely Hart coming in means at least Bain is for the off?
I can only assume Barkas will be expected to learn something from Hart and another season working with Ange and woods to get him up to speed and build his confidence.
Barkas could still be the long term keeper, or it at least gives us another couple seasons to figure it all out.


Depending on guys like seigrist age, maybe a complete change of all keepers would be an option.

But rather look to other positions now, than doubling up here

Would get rid of barkas and Bain and sign Dundee Utd goalie as backup to Hart

According to google he's 29. He makes some decent saves, every time I've seen him he's played well, and is far better than the 3 stooges.

I'm staggered that some actually think 15k is a lot.

Gordon was on 18k for * sake, and Hart comes with a bigger name and reputation than Gordon.

Not that I think Hart is worth signing at this stage (happy for him to light it up and prove me wrong), but at 15k, that's a cracking deal.

Are people honestly thinking it would have been 6k or something?
How far are people expecting(accepting!) The club to drop, that 15k is deemed our highest earner?

Why did he want to come here? Because his career is in the dump. I'm skeptical, and definitely fear another million has been wasted.

 

If he was playing as a striker then I would agree with you!

We're talking about a keeper and at 34 he has a few years he could be playing for us, also him not playing a lot recently maybe isn't a negative.
He will become a number 1 again, that will give him a big boast and if can capture anywhere near his form then 15k a week is a * bargain! Wasn't he on 150k a week at City and even at Spurs isn't he on big money?

 

Aye, I get that. But as I keep saying, he is infinitely better than the 3 stooges. You know that.

He's head and shoulders above Barkas

 

I could retort why do you even watch us?

 

Gyp it's hard to be positive about this. People think this is a low risk high reward signing, I see it as the opposite. I find it amazing that we cannot seem to scout a goalkeeper in the world better than a washed up Joe Hart. What's worse is fans are lapping it up like its some sort of coup; in reality it just highlights our incompetence. The standards have become so low with Barkas and Bain that people are blinded into accepting * like the 2021 version of Joe Hart as our saviour.

Again I hope I'm wrong but I think this has disaster written all over it.

 

If we were to go for him, could easily get 8 years out of him, depending on how good he is. Keepers can maintain their level till late thirties no problem. Most keepers are better when older.
