Keepers are notorious for fluctuating form.

In fact, long term dips in form which can last YEARS.

Case in point, Fraser Forster. Look at his career.

Viewed as journey man who would never cut it by fans and seen as a surplus to requirements at Newcastle, came up here, got his mojo, became one of the best keepers we've EVER had. Won him an England spot and a big money move to Southampton.
Went to Southampton, continued his wonderful form... Then bloop. Disaster.

Southampton fans wanted him hung and quartered for his howlers.

Dropped in favour of *. Came back back... Afterburners on, the great wall was back.

Craig Gordon; seen as the next best thing, bossed the Scottish League, big money move to Sunderland... Then blooop. *.
Sunderland fans wanted him sold. Then injuries plauged him, then released from his contract.
I and when we were in the process of signing him the vast majority of fans were dismayed. *, why are we wasting a wage on this Hun *. But his first season he was a revelation. Absolutely superb, everyone, including myself were eating our words.
An indifferent second season was followed by pure unadulterated pish. He was a walking wankstain. A liability at home and a disaster in Europe. (See previous stats posted in his thread by other user, detailing how he had the worst record of ANY keeper in Europe for TWO seasons in a row.). We HAD to get rid.

Now he's at Hearts, looking like * Buffon after one game and * are crying we shouldn't have let him go. Without realising he just would have further nosedived with us.

Joe Hart is not only VASTLY SUPERIOR to Gordon, Barkas, Bain, and slew of other past Celtic keepers, he was once regarded as the best keeper in Britain and one of the best in Europe.

I can think of only TWO keepers in all my time watching football who have ALWAYS been at the top of their game. Oliver Kahn, an Gianluigi Buffon.

Joe Hart could be a great signing. And anyone arguing he's noth worth a measley 1-2m punt is off their * rocker.

He could be shrewdest signing we make this year. This move could see him get his mojo back (not that it necessarily abandoned him) and he could easily be worth 12 odd points a season.

    Or he could be *.

Either way, he's DEFINITELY worth a punt.

If anyone thinks he isn’t better than what we have, just watch both Bain and Barkas games again.

Will be very easy to come to the conclusion that Hart is * light years better.

Don't know where to fall on this one. I suppose I should be glad to get someone in to oust the two balloons we've been using.

He was once a cracking keeper, just need to hope he can rediscover some of that form.

When you see what we have and the experience this guy has anyone turning their nose up at it I think is unfair!

3 years. Wasn't expecting that length of contract, was expecting 12 months. Suppose that was when we wanted him for free though.

Massive upgrade on what we have, no question about it..

Isn't what he was but let's hope he can recapture some kinda form/confidence..

The fact he knows he'll be our number 1 will help..

Adds some voice and experience also where it's badly lacking at the back..

Happy enough with this one, I think Joe Hartes experience will be beneficial for our leaky defence, and he is a massive improvement on what we already have.

Thank *! No team can progress when even the GK position is like musical * chairs.
