We have paid 4 million for a player and u would expect a better debut. That's it in a nutshell. No one is saying he's a poor player at this moment in time

He’s having a shocker but difficult to blame him.

Much like Murray during the week you can get away with something like throwing him into this game if you have a settled team of quality around him, but look at the state of everything around him.

I get that he's been thrown in and that but that was a simple 50/50. That's bread and butter for a dominant centre half I would have thought.

He looked better as the half went on but he definitely didn't cover himself in glory

He got done by the bounce of the ball quite a few times, and was horrible for the first goal. That aside though I thought he looked OK. Once he gets himself up to speed he should be fine.

There are a lot of mitigating factors here in fairness.

There were moments of shitness but there were moments too where I felt he dealt well with Hearts' physicality.

Didn’t have the best of games, I did like some things about his game but being thrown in the deep end didn’t help at all.

Hope he does better next game would like to see him next to Welsh.

Not a great report card for his first shift.

No blame from me today. His issue is he is coming into an under fire defence, his performance from minute one was always going to be scrutinised rightly or wrongly.

Thought he was solid enough, few nerves and just trying to learn the way his team mates like to play (which is static for some of them). Should come good for us. Just need big Jullien back.

No worries over him he will be a good player for us, but he needs quality around him.

Had a rotten start but got better as the game went on.

Haven't seen who was at fault for their 2nd. Was too angry to even watch the replay.

My word he got caught under the ball several times...

About 3 times before he made an * of the goal as well..

Please * say he will get better as we are pinning our hopes on this fella

    Agree.

Somewhat culpable for the first, but I think he'd showed enough as the game progressed to give us confidence he will be money well spent.

Harsh to judge him really considering all of the circumstances, but looks like he's got a mistake in him...

Can't judge him on just today's showing. Barely had a run on the training paddock, before being thrown in the deep end today.

I would expect some combination of Starfelt, Welsh and Julien as the bedrock of our defence this season - assuming that Julien is able to make a full recovery, but there is a lot of football to be played before he is ready.Til then, am guessing we will see more of Bitton and Murray making appearances as well, for better pr worse. :/

We really need a RB & GK as a priority, followed by a LB & CB would be nice also, and hopefully they have got someone lined up for up front for when Eddy inevitably transfers.

When you see a centre half misjudge the bounce of a ball 2 or 3 times you know , he is gonna be a dud , just a prediction on 90 mins :)
