from parkhead glasgow but now live in merseyside
It’s now the league opener and we still need the following

    First team keeper.
    First team left back
    First team right back
    Back up centre half

    First team left winger
    Back up forward.

that’s 6 players that we desperately need.

    * criminal the way this rebuild is happening.

First game of the season and we still haven’t got a right back that will play ahead of Ralston. It’s just laughable.

Genuinely lost for words at how bad our squad is at the moment.

I’m just gutted about the lack of anger from the support. I hope there’s a significant protest next weekend otherwise we might as well be a no-mark lower league English support.

Based on links and rumours this is how I expect our Starting 11 and B side to look like at the end of the window.

We will bring in another striker to replace Eddy when he leaves so they will probably go into the Starting 11 and Kyogo will move to the left or right wing.

I’ve went for Christie over Turnbull in midfield but again this is dependent on Christie staying. Turnbull is a class player but he lacks natural athleticism and that may be exposed in Ange’s set up.

I’d like to see us bring a LB in but I doubt it’s a priority. If we could get a full back who is comfortable on the left and right that would really help with squad depth.

Players like Bitton, Uroghide, Karamoko, Robertson, Connell etc not listed on either but provide us with some depth in other areas. Feel like we need more quality depth all over the park but it’s probably going to take a couple of windows to achieve that.

At the risk of jinxing it based on what we all thought at the end of last summer's window, Juranovic, Henry, CB, LB and Lovric would make this window the best in my time supporting Celtic tbh.

Thats if we also get the deadwood out.

Getting the depth in quality will take a couple of windows but those players in would make a real difference and give us some mental attacking options.

It is a massive couple of weeks, if we make some statement signings and win all our games, we are really off to a * flyer, despite the day 1 defeat.

    Hart

    Juranovic/Ralston --- Jullien/Starfelt --- Itakura/Carter Vickers --- LB/Taylor

    McCarthy/Soro/Shaw ---- Mcgregor/Christie/Turnbull

    Rogic/Turnbull/Christie

    Forrest/Abada/Furuhashi ---- Henry/Furuhashi/Ajeti ---- Furuhashi/Lovric/Christie

Then reassess in January, bring in another CM perhaps, move on Ajeti if hes not comfy being 3rd choice, replace with Nisbet. Easy. Imperative we try and tie down Christie now, IMO, given hes shown he can comfortably play across 3 positions and suits the style down to the ground.

Think getting in two CBs is a bit ambitious mate. Signing Itakura would be plenty good until January at least, Welsh is plenty good as back-up. Other than that, think you're spot on... we'd have a quality squad with those signings.

Also, love how there's a number of players listed in every position except GK :56:

aye 2 is ambitious, admttedly, but Jullien isnt back until October and will probably take until Xmas to be match fit. I think Itakura on loan and then Carter Vickers on a perm would be wise tbh but it seems a stretch given how long is left.

Itakura I am unsure if City plan on offering him a new deal, so if we take him on loan could then look at discussing terms in January.

As for GK, I'd sign Siegrist in January as competition:56:

City are greedy * so will want a fee for him. Maybe signing one CB and loaning another is a possibility, but I don't see it happening unfortunately. Think it's yourself that has been reiterating how we need 2-3 windows to sort this mess out, and I think the CB situation is a prime example of this.

It’s getting ridiculous now. Something needs to happen whether it be signings or resignations.

Aye, Ive said since the start of the window I reckon 17 players was what is required to provide us with a strong, healthy squad ready to compete seriously again.

That is across 3 windows. This, January and next summer. With no qualifiers for the UCL next season if we win the league, this summer and January are crucial so that we have a settled side.

Best window in recent memory was 2010: Mulgrew, Ledley, Hooper, Kayal, Izzy, Fraser Forster and Stokes. Add in Commons in January. Those signings were the foundation for a great team. Credit to Lennon or John Parks.

Window before that 2000: Sutton, =Valagreen, Thompson, Agathe, Rab, Lennon and a bit of Vega.

I reckon if we even just bring in two full backs and swap Eddy for Henry we'll have a very good team.

The 2010 one probably was the best in the context of us in the modern era. I find it hard to compare with 2000 as we spent a lot on wages and transfer fees for individuals then and nowadays those players would have cost probably double the price.

If we come out of this one with:

    McCarthy
    Hart
    CB
    Scales
    Starfelt
    LB
    Juranovic
    Furuhashi
    Abada
    Lovric
    Henry

It will top 2010, as I have a lot of confidence in most of these players being the right fit for us.

Praying we sell Eddy and replace him with a quality striker who will give 100%.

However our priority has got to be the defence. It would be a movie Ive seen many times before at Celtic if we have a good midfield and attack but leave ourselves completely open at the back. All the good work we carry out in an attacking sense will be undone unless we bring in at least 2 fullbacks and a CB (we probably need more than that defensively but im trying to be realistic regarding what the board will be willing spend). Its absolutely vital we make these signings if we are to have a successful season.

That would be a deadly window.

Providing the quality of the CB and LB were at least good, that's a window that could set us up for a few years.
