Agree with you alarm bells certainly that defence will get rag dolled / Bullied by the likes of hearts etc no doubt about it. Yes it was only a friendly so the result doesn’t matter overall but can’t use that excuse in relation to the performance to our strongest 11 for the upcoming games. Don’t see the board massively giving that back line a overhaul as it genuinely doesn’t happen they will add a RB along with Starfelt and Ange will be expected to soldier on. As for a keeper not a fkn chance those * will fork the money out with 3 on the books so folk ought to wake up and smell the coffee and quickly remember how this board operates and when the League starts.

 

I was really impressed with the interview response by Ange after the game. The honesty is there for all to see and he does not play up to the press . The man has integrity and is a true professional. This Covid situation is causing player delays due to quarantine restrictions of 14 days per player coming in from abroad. That applies to players already signed and also players to be signed in the future. That means players will be coming to the club in staggered shifts and will take longer for the squad to settle in to a cohesive unit. We have had to deal with Covid restrictions for 18 months now.

You can thank the Board for their short-sightedness regarding this pandemic and the need to have started much earlier in getting a manager here pronto by cutting ties with Howe after a month of dubious negotiations with him. All they needed to look at was his track record in the past to realise what the outcome would have been.

Now we have a squad that is not ready to compete due to lack of time for new signings to get here, and new signings that still need to be made.

 

I hope the Aussies here can see why the initial response to Ange was a bit lukewarm now.

The task ahead of him is massive and in the eyes of a number of fans, myself included, entirely impossible this season. Wouldn’t have made a blind bit of difference if it was Pep or Klopp, you can’t cobble together a cohesive squad on a limited budget over such a short time.

We’re in for a long season ahead imo.

 

No wonder can’t blame him perhaps it’s dawned on him Today after going out with his strongest 11 the task ahead and the cards he’s got. He would have been expecting a good performance going into the last Pre season game before the league started and I think he would have expected that hence why he went with the strongest 11. Another reason why I believe he wanted a strong performance / close game was the timing of the squad re shuffle normally this is done at half time as wee have seen pre season but he waited to just after West Ham scored and the game was out a sight. This team will get bullied by SPL opponents let alone Europe can’t see them doing anything on Wednesday tbh yes wee will likely score but will it be enough as you can bet your house we will concede more.

I'm not sold on how he wants his full backs playing which appears to be everywhere except fullback

 

I think itll work very well against teams that sit in, but I wouldn't be doing it in europe or against the huns.

I’d love one of our managers to just walk away after the initial few weeks when they actually find out what they’ve been promised isn’t happening. I like Ange and think he has something about him and I’ll be so annoyed if the board * up this guys reputation and chance to manage over here again.
