I agree we need a RB,LB and a GK but on last night's showing if we we need to sacrafice an area so we can strengthen others then CB maybe the one area at the back where we will be fine when Starfelt comes in. We would have Starfelt, Julien, Welsh and Murray. Welsh was excellent last night and Murray was good. Had a couple of little.mistakes but he is young. We are always going on about use the young players, I think iysbtime we have them a chance When they perform.as well.as that pairing did last night.

Aye in VAR games they leave it far too long. There was no excuse for that one last night.

Nail on the head. If we signed Welsh as a 21 year old playing like that for another team we would be extatic, claiming thats our defence fixed for years. Well id say CBs are covered. GK and wing backs and a non French eddy and were golden.

It wasn’t a late flag, it was completely missed and there was no VAR.

The daft linesman was too busy watching the play up the park, noticed it in the replay, * should have been watching the line.

And the result was that further activity took place ending in the bitton second yellow. Ive been saying for ages, what would happen if he was offside, let the ball run too far, and took out a defender with a wreckless challenge. One of our players out for a few months all because of this stupid delaying of making a decision.

It’s weighing up the likelyhood of that vs the likelyhood of them scoring and it being ruled offside while they were on. Just when it comes to VAR though.

It was a really bad miss too not even close he was clearly offside. I have to say I wondered after that diving * got sent off in the second half if the ref maybe had of seen the replay at half and their red card was evening things up as I thought the second yellow was soft.

I agree. I would be very surprised if either he or Edouard were still at Celtic come the end of this transfer window.

Overall considering the circumstances it was a decent performance with more to be hopeful about then disappointed about. McGregor looked back to his best Turnbull was good as well and a very promising debut for sure from young Abada. I thought Welsh at the back had a very good game and Soro looked good as well.
That been said we did not win a game we should have won and clearly we still are a long way off where we need to want to be. Ralston is not IMHO even good enough to be back up right back. Taylor is technically ok and is a decent back up option at left back up but neither full back offered us much width and or quality going forward. Barkas was at fault on their goal no question so the jury is still out there and Edouard and Christie while they had some good moments still looked a good way off their best and I still look on them as 2 who will not be at the club before this transfer window is shut anyway.
So for me overall some promising signs but lets not kid ourselves we still are a long way off being a good side.

Could you imagine Gerrards interview about the ref after that game last night. He would’ve slaughtered them as usual. Even in his post game interview the interviewer always says to him when the refs makes a mistake but they never mentioned it to Ange. Be interesting to see what Ange has to say after the first ‘honest mistake’ in a league game.

Apart from Biton's moment(s) of madness, and the dreadful miss from Barkas, there was a lot to be encouraged about our performance. The spirit and desire were definitely there before fatigue set in. It felt like we were watching the real Celtic again. And it was fantastic to see the supporters back at Celtic Park. You could see Ange really appreciated the welcome. Imagine when the place is full again. HH

I know we are all on the Angebulance and morale is a bit higher, but even a 76 page pre match thread is stretching it :giggle1:
