Plenty of decent football on display in Japan right now.

Numerous future (and current) stars will be playing. Worth a look if you can find a link.

Daniel Arzani is in the Oz team, along with some others I've rated as future prospects such as McGree and Tilio. They're playing shortly, against Argentina which will be a challenge.

Atkinson would be worth a shot at right back. Shitload better than Ralston.

Nice win by Australia over Argentina 2-0. With Egypt holding Spain 0-0, this is a great opportunity for Australia to progress.

    Yep with 3 draws.
To be fair, our tactics were * tonight.
Played for the draw and bit us on the *.

That was an amazing result for Australia. Even crazier that they cannot make it out of the group stages after that too. Although I must say I watched Australia's U23/olympic team play our U21's last June with Luca Connell and Jonathan Afolabi among those playing for Ireland and was not impressed as we actually won the game 2-1 and Australians really did not do very much including Arzani.

The team is very young and inexperienced still. However they were let down by what I saw as poor tactics, playing for draws against both Spain and Egypt. Where as we played for a result against Argentina.
They’ll be better for the experience, so will the coach.

For sure good experience for the players who played and some who will no doubt make the progression onto the full national team will be the better for this.

And Arzani got some much needed minutes in his legs. He was improving with each game.

The game time no doubt will help him a lot. Really promising player but like so many potentially great wide players seems to have real problems staying fit. Always felt he could have had a real good stint with us but for that terrible injury.

Great tussle so far. 30 minutes gone 0-0, GB looking more dangerous though creating some decent chances. Aussies up for this though.

Half time 1-0 to Australia. GB started really well, some decent attacks, Australia necessarily was playing a bit of the counter at times but possession was quite even. GB hit the post a couple of times and forced a decent save. But, Australia scored a great goal from a corner and it seemed to really deflate GB. 2nd half will be interesting. GB needs a half time pep talk.

66 minutes defensive * up GB 2-1. This is going to be a great finish.

85 minutes and both teams going for it. Still 2-1 to GB.
