Mikey Johnston

There's no doubt he has got the talent but he really needs beefing up a bit. I personally think that we have too many players currently playing for us who are on the small side. We get bullied in many of our games and we also struggle dealing with high balls or crosses due to the oppositions height advantage. I would like to see us bringing in some big commanding CB's and maybe a big Hartson like CF in. and, before anyone mentions it, I fully appreciate the like's of Messi, Pirlo etc. are small however, they are different class.

 

Another Dahan ‘project’? No thanks; not for the first team anyway. Enough young guys of our own to develop.

Need an established, experienced winger in.

 

I’d be willing to give the boy a chance. Looks decent and he’s played over 70 games in Israel at 19. Scored 12 goals, broke into the national team. Yes from me.

 

This really is a massive season for him career wise no question. If he can stay fit and that is a big if he has the talent to become one of our most important attacking players. Looking back at the fiasco that was last season one of the biggest issues we had was an almost total lack of attacking width which a fully fit Mikey Johnston would certainly go a long way to address. If he and Forrest on the other side can have full seasons that would largely address one of last seasons major problems ie the lack of attacking width on both sides of the field.
Plus beyond all that in full flow Mikey Johnson is a joy to watch.

 

I’m hoping we’ll see something similar injury wise this year than we did last time Lenny left and Ronny took over. Lustig and Forrest could suddenly complete a full season of games.

Walked off injured again.. that's his biggest enemy, don't think he's ever managed more than a handful of games on the trot.

He lasted 20 odd minutes, which is 10 minutes more than he managed last season FUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKK

 

What even was it that forced him off? I didn't see him hit with any reao tackle so must have just been from his dogey legs.

Hopefully it's a * all, but if it's not resolved this season I can't see him having a career, never mind a career here

 

His loose boot lace whipped his shin guard, think it will be a few months before we see him back

Yep.. probably last we see of him till Christmas..

 

It’s an awful shame how injury prone he is for such a talented lad. The medical staff need to seriously consider what their options are regarding him now

 

Needs to sort his fitness issues or hire a personal specialist. It could save his career.
