Well I think we're all in agreement here...fundamentally...

I would far have preferred Ange to bring in his own team and I expect he will bring in one or two - sooner rather than later I hope. I'm not remotely surprised that JK and GS are still here - no-one ever said they were leaving and you can bet Ange was encouraged to "bring them along" as, maybe not a term of his engagement, but as a big favour to the board.

That said, it does look very suss - the timing of the announcement that they were staying. Whether or not Ange thinks they're any good you can bet he'll be aware of the fans' antipathy to the pair and will know that their continuing presence is undermining him in the fans' eyes.

Maybe he thinks he's upholding his end of that devil's bargain by leaving them in place but the board's not doing their bit to bring in the players he wants "yesterday". No wonder he's grumpy.

For me there does appear to be progress. You can't discern a shitload from a bunch of stage-managed videos and one preseason match - but the players (youth at least) seem to be responding to his methods and enjoying their work. A number of good prospects have been identified and the Ange shape and system is already clear to see.

Obviously heaps more to do but there are some reasons to be positive. He's clearly working pretty hard.

Sadly, am getting that vibe from some people on here also. You would think they'd get behind and support the manager and the team, but would rather be in the 'told you so' crowd, that have seemingly already made their mind up even before a ball is really kicked in anger this season.
