Burnley have taken the first steps towards signing Ryan Christie this summer according to a report.

Record Sport first revealed that Sean Dyche's Clarets are long-term admirers of Christie, whose contract expires in January.

There was interest from France and elsewhere in the Premier League in the 26-year-old.

But the Daily Mail are reporting that Burnley have made an official enquiry about taking him to Turf Moor.

And they are said to be waiting on Celtic's valuation before deciding whether to make a bid.

I think he’ll do alright under a decent manager, was good against Lazio and RB Leipzig which are better than 3/4 of the PL

Ryan Christie isn’t one of our best players. He’s Ryan Christie FC’s best player.

    * him and his * attitude.

He may be that good in his own mind but that is not an issue

Don't get this attitude criticism either

Aye, the difference between him this year to the year before in terms of playing for the team and then playing for himself is one of the biggest U Turns I’ve ever seen. Year previous he was an ultimate team player.

This is exactly it, I sometimes try and give him the benefit of the doubt for trying to do everything himself last season because he seen how * we were but he really was just looking out for himself

I’ve always said, remember his assist for Eddy against Leipzig to win it? That was him when he was playing his way into the team and a new contract, instead of going for glory to write his name in the headlines he squared it for an easy goal for French Eddy.

Does anyone believe he would pass that ball last year?

Whole team struggled with this last season - for me one of the main reasons was for the first half of the season at least, our full backs (if you call them that!) were forever taking our entire midfield out of play then putting in crap balls / poor passes and leaving players like Christie with practically no space to play - in front of them pretty much the entire opposition team, our full backs, our striker(s). It was starting to get a bit better when Taylor was in team more. Christie's work rate remained high - agree his end product was well done. But on the basis that the new manager gets the formation right and maximises the opportunity for players to contribute, Christie will be one of the highest in that regard.

That is the issue because I’m reality he’s no that good. His attitude is stinking and he thinks he’s too good for Celtic.

Would rather we had players with lots of confidence... Haven't heard him say he's too good for celtic, either the words or in his work rate

Wait… his contract actually ends in January?

He should have been sold last season, new deal or out. He can now leave for free and we’ll be stuck with him half arsed until January or get a couple of million for someone easily worth £10+ million.

Just get him punted as soon as possible. Don't care if it's for £1m, £2m or £5m, get him out the club.
