CELTIC are eyeing loan moves for West Brom pair Kyle Edwards and Rekeem Harper.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon plans to bolster his squad next month and has the Baggies duo on his radar.


Midfielder Harper, 20, was close to joining Celts in the summer of 2019 but chose to stay at the Hawthorns.

Lennon even scouted him in person at the Championship play-offs against Aston Villa and is now poised to launch a fresh swoop.

Winger Edwards is also interesting the Hoops after falling out of favour under old boss Slaven Bilic.

The 22-year-old has started only one Premier League game this season and is keen for regular football.


New Baggies gaffer Sam Allardyce is expected to add to his squad and Edwards is set to be available.

A loan move for the winger could even become permanent, with his contract up in the summer.

Celtic recruitment chief Nick Hammond previously worked at West Brom and knows both players well.

Lennon wants to add extra creativity in the wide areas.


James Forrest is out for another six weeks, leaving injury-hit Mikey Johnston as his only out-and-out winger.


Edwards can play on the right or left and would add pace to his front line for the second half of the season.

 

Suppose, this is likely the market after the brexit nonsense anyway.

Harper I would have taken 18 months ago, not sure if he answers any questions though, not ones that would hamper the chances of our own players (assuming just a loan deal).

Edwards, no clue about, but we need cover. Just hopefully not in favour of Mikey not getting game time - again if just a loan.

 

2 young loan player's from West Brom? Nah..

Especially after he took in our game and then * us off to sign a new deal at West Brom..

 

More "potential" who aren't good enough for their own club, and WBA are no Brazil 1970 believe me, but who are supposed to improve us? If this is what we can expect in January then what little chance we have in the league will be gone.

I am seriously worried about our head of recruitments ability to pick a player. Signed some rubbish for West Brom in his previous role and his network seems a bit limited in terms of who we keep looking to sign.

Harper was highly rated before but not sure he’s what we need and Edwards stats don’t suggest much.

 

I’d be delighted with Harper, he’s got huge potential.

West Brom are a bit of a freak show, and he’s hardly been given a chance. I think he wanted to leave, grudgingly signed a new contract, but the club held it against him, and were only really interested in getting a fee(we’d have got him on the cross border rule)

He’s very talented and built like Wanyama.

Our midfield has been over-run on too many occasions for my liking, and more power/aggression is something we need.

I think that’s partly why Soro has impressed so many.

I haven’t seen the winger(Edwards) but he was very highly rated as a kid, and is another who hasn’t been given an opportunity. Also the West Brom youth academy is highly regarded.

Looks good in videos know that needs to be took with a pinch of salt and anyone can look good but can beat a man looks tricky and can cut in and shot on his right and also hit the line and get it across goal
