Celtic have to either move him or sign him. There are no in-betweens. I can't see him wanting to stay even to get the free agent bonus. I'm actually thinking that Leicester may have dodged a bullet with him & Patson Daka is a better bet.

 

I wonder how much him visibly downing tools for a year would put teams off. Reminds me a bit of Fraser at Bournemouth, he was wanted by Arsenal and Spurs when he had six months left on his contract, by the time his contract was over he'd completed stopped trying for Bournemouth and the best move he could get was Newcastle.

 

It has to make another club suspicious when they see a player coasting along. I have way more respect for Ajer who always brings it regardless.

Not really sure why but I just never really have taken to Edouard. Don't get me wrong I think he is a very good player and when he was at his best came up with some crucial goals and performances for us. The winner in the treble treble final will always be one of my personal great memories of supporting Celtic. But Dembele for me he was special I just loved him at Celtic and would as you say happily see him back in the hoops one day. Doubt it will happen. But it is clear as well that he appreciated us and always is wanting us to do well and enjoys it like a supporter when we do.

 

I definitely don't. Not going to complain about him or run him down but best for all he goes.

 

If an offer comes in and he knocks it back and and he is not sold before the window closes we should let him rot and not play.

Yes I saw that. Celtic put up the price & Edouard was looking was looking for bigger wages than Daka. Another club will pay the price because goal scorers are always in demand.

It really is simple though - sign an extension or sell him this season. No running down his contract or anything like that.

Leicester paid us a fortune to land him and his coaching team.

Aye he could have pushed for them to wait til the end of the season but if the board are still bitter and willing to price the club out of potential sales, that's embarrassing.

It might allow us to demand a higher fee but then it's a question of 'Will a club pay it?' at this point I just want him and his rotten attitude out the club. If we rumble into next season with these bad eggs at the club, it's going to stunt any proper rebuild. Get them out.

The Athletic is normally quite accurate so I'm assuming there is some truth to the story. It also sounded like Edouard wanted bigger wages than Leicester wanted to pay. I get the feeling that he is trouble for whoever signs him.
