I am chilled pal, but I am a realist. If we fail in Europe at the first hurdle without having any players of quality being brought in, do you then think players of quality will want to come and play for us without European football, in our Mickey Mouse corrupt League? How does that leave us for winning the League ?

Aye. Folk saying about Midtjylland not being a great side are correct, they aren’t. However, neither are we, far from it in fact. They will be far more ready for this game than we will. This isn’t our usual bye to the next round first game against part timers from Iceland or Gibraltar.

Aye but it’s against a far better side than we usually face for our first game. It’s no against boys that have just finished a day shift for starters.

Hope to * Ajer and Eddy are still here for this. This game is less than 5 weeks away unless we make signings in the fortnight (which we won’t) then we will most likely have no new players for this game. When you take into account new players will maybe have to isolate and then have no time with the team.

I don't get why players have to isolate if we sign them, yet off they pop all over Europe playing against every player anyway and its ok. Surely its an elite sport exemption and tests are fine.

Thats the only hope we have, I actually felt like they were already gone. If they are here still we'll have a chance.

I dont think any of the players that are ready for the off will play any games for us specially those 2 who will hope to go to teams that are going to be in europe this season .
I think even if you play for a team in the qualifiers you cant play for so many games in europe for your next team so they wont play any part in europe for us

You could probably cut out the Scandinavian part of that comment and it will still be true, at least last season anyway, hopefully tides will turn

On paper, easiest of the 3 ties we could have got.

But it is gonna be tough.
Any other year I would be fairly confident, but we are needing an entire backline before this game kicks off and we need the new manager to get his style/formation etc across to the squad that is here done in record timing.
The Danes aren't no mugs, they are tougher opponents than we would normally face at this time of the year - but they aren't the toughest we would face normally in the last qualifying rounds.

Winnable, but everything is stacked against us.

Silver lining, if we do manage to get through a couple of these rounds, then the calibre of team we face is massively higher than previous years and in theory would set us up for a decent group campaign, you would hope.

The dates for Celtic’s UEFA Champions League second qualifying round against FC Midtjylland have now been officially confirmed.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were drawn against the Danish side in yesterday’s draw in Nyon, Switzerland, and confirmation of the exact dates for each leg has now been decided.

Celtic will host the first leg on Tuesday, July 20th at Celtic Park with a kick-off time of 7:45 pm local time. The Bhoys will then travel to Denmark the following week for the second leg which will take place on Wednesday, July 28th in the city of Herning with a kick-off time of 6:45 pm Celtic Park time.

In light of the ongoing COVID risk and restrictions, UEFA has decided not to allow any away supporters to attend any of the 2021/22 qualifying phase and play-off matches. Celtic Football Club is also asking supporters to continue following the government's COVID guidelines.

The home leg of this UCL second qualifying round tie is part of the 2021/22 season ticket, either in person or virtually via the Pass to Paradise. Overseas (outside the UK and Ireland) fans can watch the home leg Live on Celtic TV.

Thank you for your fantastic support. We look forward to welcoming you back to Celtic Park as soon as possible.

Away goals rule scrapped starting from the qualifiers.

Like the idea of that I think.

Pointless having home and away ties if away goals don’t count as more.

May as well just play one off knockout games.

As always it's about the money. 50,000 people paying to watch the game.
