Erik Sviatchenko

I always liked him so maybe my memory is pish. He started well then dipped badly from what I remember.

What I will say is that he’s not as bad as many suggest. He had a spell next to Jozo in the CL where they both looked the business.

That was our back 4. 3 of them are/were rapid..

The guy was basically just slaughtering Sviatchenko..

He is just about as bad a signing as we could make just now..

So slow when we need pace back there
Need an aerial presence and he's tiny
Need someone comfortable on the deck and he isn't overly
Need someone who isn't rash and he 100% is..

I'm sure the Huns tortured him in a qualifier last year as well..

I dont think he's terrible. Went through a poor run of form here and was rightfully dropped, but was good in spells too

 

Look at our squad now, it's ridiculously slow and one paced..

We lost our one true speed merchant in Frimpong and our only fast defender (the fastest in our squad) wants out this summer..

Leaves Forrest and Mikey with any genuine bit of pace in our team really. McGregor and Soro aren't slow either but you get the gist..

Some of the name's we're being linked with would be horrible to what is already a slow squad and especially the way the new man likes to play..

 

Give it till Christmas before I get an aneurysm from him giving a foul away anytime a ball is played into the strikers feet.

He was incredibly average and had no pace which is what centre backs like him who are under 6ft usually have to make up for lack of height. I remember he used to get bullied a lot too, pass.

Let's be honest mate, I believe every single name that's been linked has been a guess.

Wyke, Onaiwu, Ryan, Mooy, Boyle, Hickey and now Sviatchenko? All lazy guesses imo.

 

we have no * cb's welsh whos nowhere near the finished article and an injured jullien.i liked erik and maybe wouldnt be the worst back up but its all pointing towards more shambolic recruitment,* that if we are straight in with a panic buy

 

I wouldn't be so sure on that..

The standard of player we're being linked with is very worrying tbh.

Another drawback of the Ange appointment is he will have absolutely no knowledge of the European market given none of his previous clubs would be signing players from there and our European scouting set up is headed by Strachan's other son

You might be right mate, and tbh out of the lot Sviatchenko would probably be the most realistic, guy seems to love us and we always seem to use that card when recruiting.

I've got the absolute fear for the direction we're going in. It's frightening..

Id have him back ,shouldn't have sold him in first place. Better him than Bitton or another duffy'esqe type.
