He's just win player of the year in Belgium, just shows the SPL isn't that bad of a standard
Not a chance Henry would win a raffle here, him thinking he was cafu cost the goal being out of positition, yes marshall was off his line doing good know what but it's henrys fault, 1.9 m in the bank will do

He took a dig that never came off, the defence was easily covering the counter attack, but... Marshall was nearly at the halfway line ffs... I remember when Marshall was starting for us, he would have these errors in him at times.

Was it * Hendry's fault. The lads got shortcomings and didn't work out, but he wasn't to blame for anything other than taking a long range shot instead of a better short pass... He was 10 yards from their box when he hit it. Not like he tried a bicycle kick in his own box. Czech lad scored a brilliant 50yard long shot, but Marshall 35yard from goal was to 'blame' - and I don't even want to put that on him, because he made 3-5 good saves during the game that stopped it being a rout

Thought he was appalling all match. An absolute liability at the back, to the same standards as O'Donnell. Are we surprised?

I'd rather play a youngster next season than have this guy back.

I agree. Marshall was way out of position and has to take a fair bit of responsibility for the second goal. I also agree that the shot by Hendry was foolish & he should have been playing the pass.

It was the keepers fault ffs. He was a foot from touching the centre circle. Why an earth would any keeper stand there. Utter idiot and that goal is squarely on him.

Not squarely on him. Even it Marshall wasn’t there and Hendry makes that decision he’s left his partner at the back 2 on 1. If you’re a defender breaking the lines to run forward you can’t lose possesion like that. He put us in danger in the first place, Marshall gubbed it completely with his positioning.

True, I suppose if he realised the keeper was nearly further forward than the opposition keepers mum north of the boarder in the backlands of Alaska then he may have thought twice of having a pop.

I thought if Marshall had run forward instead of back he'd maybe have got to it first. Don't really place any blame as it was a fooking awesome shot tbh.

Thought Marshall started really well with us but you could see the confidence draining out of him as time passed.

He was young, we were at the same school and year so he must have ben 17 or 18 in 2002, he was not ready but had to come in for those games against Barcelona and excelled on the occasion after that the expectations on him must have been a lot to live up to at such an age.

Decision making is the downfall of lots of capable players, they have the physical skills but struggle to make the right decision under pressure. Hendry appears to be one of those players.

I honestly think he'd be a great player for a midtable team in most leagues. He's not a player that can cope under pressure and scrutiny.

Players that can cope at teams like Celtic are becoming rare especially when the riches of the PL where you can play for most teams without much pressure or need to win

Think that’s a great point mate. Play for Celtic 60k fans expecting to win every domestic game or play for Southampton for example for more money in front of fans who have pretty low expectations and don’t expect to win any honours.

during any competitive game of football you need to be able to perform under pressure.
I would certainly argue that the premier league is played at a higher tempo and speed.
if Hendry is unable to do it for celtic or Scotland then how could he perform in the premier league at any level?

I do not see what all the fuss is with him, seems a nice fella but bog standard average at best and he isn't getting any younger, nor do I see him developing his game at a steady level.

Who has been the last celtic defender who has been a regular 8/10 all season?!

if celtic were a strong team ajer would be played right back as part of a solid back line that does not ship silly goals.

think the problem with hendry is that hes not played anywhere near the amount of games he should have played for someone his age

we really dont need a reserve or development league in scotland just get them playing in the lower divisions on loan or with our colt clubs to toughen them up and get them used to playing against men

we as a nation are molly coddling young men, football is a short career they need to learn and there not going to get games at celtic to learn their trade craft, for years its been a waste having these development/reserve sides a waste for the club and a waste for the players

all these coaches that are signing him and playing him obviously cant all be wrong its proffessional match practice hes short on and needs to eliminate the flaws in his game
