If he had played more games then i would imagine these small faults would have ironed themselves out with more experience gained in those games and be a better player coming into the new season.

Kouassi and Bayo have Ivory Coast caps I think.
I'm happy to have Soro as an option but I want Celtic to go out and buy a quality CM. I'm not wanting to start next season with Soro, Mcgregor and Turnbull as our best CM trio.

It’s his biggest one and it’s a big one but it’s easy to fix.

I like Soro but I’d agree with this tbh.

A real quality holding midfielder, flanked by Turnbull and McGregor would be a very exciting midfield .

We definitely need to to and get a quality CM to play alongside McGregor and Turnbull.

The thing that annoys me is there was every chance Soro could have been that midfielder, yet for absolutely no reason we decided to drop him for Brown, and I think he only started one game after that.

I’m confident Soro is the man for the job.

We 100% need a powerful CM added to the squad.

I like Soro too. We just need that depth.

Aye, totally agree. Soro should do well next season but with Broony and Ntcham leaving and possibly Christie and Rogic going too, we need CM's brought in for depth.

I don’t think it’s a top priority tbh, compared to other positions, especially with the amount of young CMs we have who need game time: Connell, Shaw (who has a bit of a rep for being ‘powerful’, I think), Robertson, etc.

A player who can properly protect a defence from midfield can transform an average defence. Wanyama infront of Wilson and Ambrose were world beaters.

Wanyama at Southampton would be a cleansheet machine, it can be an absolute game changer.

In a different kind of way than Wanyama, Glen Kamara ahead of Tavenier has masked all the issues he has as a defender. Izzy’s first season with us Ledley done the same.

We need defensively responsible midfielders who will track men and cover for people out of position. It’s essential.

Soro could be it but he does it with work rate and aggression, we need cannyness.

Something Brown’s done for years for us and still did this season to an extent when we moved to a diamond.

Made his (albeit very very brief) Ivory Coast debut today

    Good for him!

I sincerely hope he is afforded reasonable game time next season, nothing to suggest that he can't be our very own version of Kante...

I disagree completely, brown's relentless workrate was his greatest attribute, he was the engine of our midfield, not being a clever player, his legs going killed his whole game.

Soro should have started 90% of the games brown did this season.

think hes more than capable of playing the DM role for us pointless buying another dm when weve got loads of other positions to fill

should have been a regular last season when it was clear brown was done, league was gone and we still played a far inferior player just because of sentimentality

we could and should have been getting the team ready for the next season by playing promising players that were ready for the step up

Think we still need a body to replace brown. Soro gets injured and what do you do? Bitton?

Edit: Answering my own question here but possibly Liam Shaw

    probably

think its clear with the ange appt were gonna be playing more youngish players and weve bought a good few of these types over the last couple of years

as ange likes a fit high energy team and players

the young irish guy luca connel, the young ex manu defender, liam shaw, were short on experience we'll buy a few big signings upfront left wing central defence and make the rest up with young guys im pretty sure thats the way its gonna go

Still can't get over his treatment last season.

Aye, he wasn't perfect and he was maybe a bit overrated by our support at times, but he added a much needed change to the team when he came in, and our midfield looked a lot more settled.

Yet Lennon and Kennedy dropped him the first bad game he had and Brown was first choice again, despite showing nothing that he deserved it, infuriating.
