I take it as he shapes a team around a philosophy he's passionate about. It's not really a philosophy if you change styles to suit personel. Postecoglou has had alot of success

Take it he plays ten 6’ 6” players behind the ball?

You will not be happy until Celtic have no attacking players whatsoever.

Finland had 2. And this approach is what we need for Europe.

Finland should have been 3 goals down before Eriksens horrific incident and would most likely have lost had it not happened.

    Keep banging that drum though.

True, the incident affected things. But I'd rather have an organized defense than a rerun of Deila/Rodgers approach to defending.

    Don't talk *.

Teams don't constantly beat us in Europe because they sit back and defend for their lives.

An organised defence that was getting ripped open before the Eriksen incident?

    Ok then.

I see the harbingers of doom are still utilising their crystal balls, palmistry, the throwing of bones and examining the wrinkles on their own * bawbags to predict the upcoming apocalypse, heralded by Antichrist-Ange.

We've been papped out a cup by Stenhousmuir, 3 nil down by half time to Sevco, been done in by a late Ross county goal, finished 4rth in the league, and now we're in for a "legia style pumping".

All these Sam Rothsteins must be killing it in the bookies week in week out.

Why can't these mystics lay off the fitba and maybe help out humanity a bit?

Think of all the good they could've done. How much better off would mankind be today if these sages would've warned us about Covid-19? The rise of ultra nationalism in Europe? The disappearance of bees or Katie Price's 'Being Jordan'?

These guys could prophesy us into a * Eutopia! Instead all their mystic gifts are directed at chubby Australian guy who looks like smells of golden Virginia and Stella Artois. Poor * wouldnt look out if place standing outside a Gregg's bakery in overalls, suckin brown sauce of his fingers. Add on that he's just taken a job at a basket case of a club. The guys got enough problems lads. Lay off a bit.

Although I am interested to tune back in again in a couple of days to read some more nuggets of celestial foreboding. If you hear your neighbors cat mew three times before kick off in our first away game of November, it will herald an 83rd minute own goal when a resigned Gary Mackay Steven confuses a rotund seagull for the ball.

After seeing Belgium tonight, I'd trade Postecoglou for their manager in a heartbeat.

Not sure if your post is sarcasm or not but as manager of Belgium Martinez is nuts deep in talent ! Most competent managers would succeed in that environment . A manager can only do so much with a squad & the onus is on Celtic to provide Ange with some competent football players. Formations & philosophies will only get you so far if all you have are plumbers !

Nope. Ange gets the players who can play his system.

Gets rid of those that can't.

That's not the issue. I have no problem with a manager who sets his teams out to attack - that is the Celtic tradition.

A lot of comments about Ange (including from Journos who have watched his in teams in A +J leagues) indicate that he can be one dimensional i.e. this is my system and I'm not changing it.

As I have pointed out - Rodgers (whose reputation as a manger is way better than Ange's - at least in Europe) was stubborn about that and, when we played Teams who were obviously much better than us i.e. PSG - we got hammered.

If we draw a half-decent European team and Ange is either tactically unable to change or just too stubborn to do it - then we're likely to get hammered again.

The "you score 3, we'll score 4" approach may well work in the A + J leagues (and against many SPFL teams also tbh). It won't work in Europe.

‘Philosophy’ needs to be balanced by pragnatism at a point though.

Doesn’t happen overnight but you need to just win while you’re moulding the team into that.

Youre right, especially in Europe. But thinking back to our own domestic games. The teams that gave us most problems were those who pressed us like *. Hearts for example.

So it'd be interesting to see us be brave in Europe too. I feel like against the likes of PSG and Barcelona, we weren't brave. We sat back back got our arses handed to us. Whereas we were brave against City and Bayern and got rewards (almost). Barcelona 2012 we were pragmatic but I feel that was a freaky night tbh and the gulf has widened since the Stracham and O'Neill days.

In saying that we have had some humping in Europe against the smaller teams by being a little thrivelous in attack so a balance is definitely needed and something I'm worried Postecoglou won't provide
