Other than the blatant PR spin from that weasel McCulloch, his interview was really good. He seems a likeable fella and lives for his football, thorough in his work and his passion comes across in his words.

So much about the club has been negative of late, but I'm hoping he surprises a few of us by exceeding expectations. Surely can't do worse than last season's * show? :fear:

I didn't get the comment because I don't know cricket at all, but seems he's sort of went back on it apologising really quickly.

There are aspects of this appointment that don't bear scrutiny but he has been outstandingly successful in his previous roles. Has to be reason for confidence.

It's important not to jump in too quickly with the criticism if things aren't brilliant in the first few games - hopefully as a support we won't. Jansen lost his first 2 games and Larsson cost us the goal at Hibs that lost one of the games - they turned out not too badly. Jansen's season had a similar feel at the club as we have now. And as you say Rodgers lost his first game to Red Imps. It's going to be tough in Europe as very little time - important to get some players in (and out) quickly.

He seems to be Dom's choice which is positive. That interview with Celtic TV was shocking though, all about how Celtic is attractive to him. Obviously mate, but why are we attracted to you.

Really hope someone addresses the fact that Howe was offered the job first to him & Dom, just to see what line they give out

Gave his pal months of poor results before there was any criticism whatsoever though. It's ridiculous how differently foreign managers are treated here. Deila was a nervous wreck and Sutton was the same with him. Constant criticism from day 1.

To be fair the cricket comment seems to be aimed at the lack of resource and time available to him though.

Totally underwhelmed by this appointment but as I don't know much about him just have to wait and see what he delivers on the pitch. Hopefully the players we have and the ones yet to come in will take to his ethos and we are once again the dominant force in Scotland.

I disagree, the laptop was telling them for months they were pish and needed to change things but was being ignored. The laptop shouldn't bear the brunt of the others failings. It deserves another chance and should stay, the others need to go though.

Don’t know why guys are against technology in the dug out. Every top club does it. * look at England the other day, Southgate sits with an iPad on a stand next to him.

It’s in how you use the technology.

    This.

I imagine most of the stick directed towards the laptop situation is tongue in cheek. You can’t have fans on one hand complaining about the clubs lack of forward thinking while at the same time complaining about the use of a laptop.

Real time data is as valuable as you make it, but you’re definitely better to have it than not.

    Oh well. It’s done.

Underwhelmed, but I’ll get 100% behind the big fella.

I think it's more of a slagging of the guy holding the technology than technology itself.

If we were steamrollering teams, naebody would care but when you see Strachan Jr. pointing to an iPad to an oncoming sub as we're getting dicked 2-0 off Ross County at home and half the team aren't even trying, it just seems bizarre.
