Exactly this. It´s disturbing that this is not a major topic.

The wife told me the other day that she intended to buy new curtains. I answered that I thought it was a brilliant idea.
Not long after we had had the discussion, I get an ad from wherever pointing me in the direction of a local company having a sale on curtains? I´ve never even thought of browsing for curtains?

    Scary stuff tbh.

To the best of my knowledge I've disabled Siri.

That doesn't stop the * from suggesting stuff all the time - suspiciously appropriate stuff.

Strange : the Police have to show cause before the Courts will let them listen to your phone conversations but people install a (marketing) device supplied by an unregulated multi-national in their own homes that listens to everything thats said.

I don't have siri though and don't have any of those home automation thingamajigs.

When I got a new phone it asked if I wanted to use siri and I said no, but I keep getting suggestions from siri which irritate the * out of me - not least as they clearly relate to searches I've made.

Aye same here. Last week we were talking about something obscure, let’s say purple velvet paisley pattern flairs. 10 minutes later hey presto and on my IPad. Maybe I should start talking about free weed.

The targeted ads work by keywords spoken and past search history. Sometimes you will be targeted with stuff you were just talking about yesterday and sometimes it can be periodical or when that item is trending. There are ways to stop targeted ads but unless you are clearing cookies and all data everytime you close your browser chances are some cookies will persist.

You could download a family tree template, fill it in and get it printed.

Same for women doing it with jackets. If you’re going to put on a jacket, put your arms through the feckin sleeves.

Bought a new hose for the garden yesterday , one of those that extends 3 times its size . Packaging shows lovely emerald green hose so that clinched the deal , gets home opens it up... * hun blue hose as you can get . Trivial I know but if I had an inkling it was blue I definitely wouldn't have bought it !
