All we can do is back the guy. Anything else is just *. From what I hear about him he will give our team and board the proper kick up the * it most certainly needs for my money anyway.

Good post and I agree with what you say. All Celtic fans will say they are willing to give him a chance but you know there will be a fairly sizeable section who will get the knives out the minute there is even a hint of something not going to plan. Id advise Ange to stay well off social media including sites like this, the online football experts will be out in full force telling us all where he is going wrong. With the state of the team at the moment and the rebuild that is required its very obvious that if he is to ultimately be a success there is going to be more than few bumps in the road on the way.

 

Just so we’re clear how long are we willing to give this guy to become a success, would anyone give him 2 years of no trophies like the Huns did with Gerrard

I've said it before, should he be our guy, he will get my support without doubt, that does not mean I support the clubs decision to hire him as there is surely, in all of European football, better options who we could have got in right now.

I was warming to the idea but his recent results have me on edge Celtic manager needs to be a pragmatist because Celtic matches call for different approach domestically then a total different approach in Europe
... this manager isn’t one he wants to play same way regardless of circumstances budget player set or opposition ..... get away with that back in the day not now I commend him want to play football a certain way but all I care about is results

Same here mate, i don’t get the criticism of Strachan’s football style when he delivered in Europe.

 

I get more anxious the more I read, at first I was thinking it was an out of the box hire from the board but now I’m thinking it is more off your box than out it. I just don’t see the players taking to this guy, saying he takes no prisoners and will dictate his will over the team just tells me that either he will bully his way forward as he can’t convince professionals that he has a plan for improving the technical ability of the team. To say he will just get rid of players is also pie in the sky he might force one or two out but he has about 10-15 left from last year and he has some of them with * attitude and some are physically incapable of playing his way.

in truth I think he will have 8 players that fit his criteria for football philosophy the rest are either off, being sold, released from contracts or punted out on loan some are not interested and will sit and see out there contracts so how long before the players shut him out and they dictate the tactics what then do we sell the whole team
